Skyrim remastered free for pc if you own skyrim already

you can still get 3440x1440 with an ini file tweak. it should just be native these days.

Reddit/Steam reviews are talking of the usual menu problems with Beth and 1440uw.

Not yet noticed any but I haven't had time to get out of Helgen Keep.

Code:
bBorderless=1
bFull Screen=1
iSize H=1440
iSize W=3440

Dumb question time, sorry chaps. If i launch Skyrim through steam will it auto update itself to this new version? If so is it likely to break my installed mods, been playing through for the last four weeks or so and not too far off having done all the main quests n stuff and would be real upset if it breaks my game.

I'm pretty sure if i launch it through nexus mod manager with skse launch option it bypasses the steam launcher, i'm almost certain thats what happened when i did it one time before but i don't think the cloud save then uploaded when i quit the game (no big deal since i'm nearly done with this playthrough anyway tbh).

This version of the game is separate to the old one.. completely stand alone

Does it break anything? Aiming reticles not being centred? Stuff like that?

Running it with 2 x 980ti at 1440 and the game runs like crap, the graphics are pretty poor too. I have had Skyrim original since 2011 and only ever played it for 2 hours because of how ugly it is, couldn't be bothered modding it. This new one is still damn ugly with a shocking performance. Glad I got this junk for free, Skyrim is pants. As the post above someone saying "turn off Gsync"... Lets be honest you shouldn't have to. Bethesda are a joke. 2 shocking games released within quick succession, 1 from Bethesda and the other from Hanger 13, the actual release of good games on Steam must be less than 10 percent.

Cry more.

The game has been released with no Ultra Wide support, no SLI support, no Gsync support, it looks awful and it plays awful.

Yea it was free, but so what? It's now over to the modding community to code the game for Bethesda as usual.

I dont get half the comments.

Bethesda never said they were going to be fixing bugs or adding any new stuff to the game..

it was just a graphics / texture upgrade.. ???

They've updated it for the modding community, so that mods can be enabled for PC and console. Like I said, they've decided to sell us the base game and then have us repair and enhance it ourselves. They did the same with Fallout 4.

Without the modding community, Bethesda are lost and they know it.

Its considered a new game so does not update your old skyrim. You just see a new game listed in your library and install that like you would a new game you just bought.

This same 'backlash' happened recently with the free BioShock remasters.

They were released in a slightly poor (but playable state) and then patched within 2 weeks. Steam reviews were dreadful for the first week.

I played through the patched versions and they are great now.

Ah cheers, would have been mad had it borked my current playthrough.

No Immersive HUD, no Spell Effects on HUD and no SkyUI! I might cry. 3 of the most critical mods possible :(

I am talking about the graphics still being poor. the performance being non-existant and the SLI support not being included. The vanilla game was just a mess with some of the worst shadows and such I have seen in any game (apart from crappy mafia 3), this new Skyrim is still pretty poor graphically for 2016, unplayable for me.

Unplayable????? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, it's a remastered game, a very OLD game. Pick up your toys and move on. Absolutely pathetic.

Plays perfectly smooth for me and graphically I think it's fairly decent for a free upgrade!

Honestly, some of you lot need to grow up, throwing temper tantrums because the game isn't the next best looking AAA title out this quarter.

Truly pathetic.

Again. It's an essentially free remaster not a remake.

Why you would expect cutting edge 2016 graphics, I don't know.

And have Bethesda games ever played nice with SLI? Fallout 4 SLI was shoddy on release.
