Sony XF90

Got the replacement 75" XF9005 today and ZERO issues no dirt, dead or stuck pixels. SO if you get one with any pixel defect or dirt on the screen send it back for a replacement. This basically proves the screens are 100% perfect if you win this silly panel lottery.

I don't think your one faulty set makes this a panel lottery, it seems like you just got a screen that may have been mistreated during the construction process. Unfortunate but not symptomatic of a wider issue imo.

Just a heads up for people wanting to install via USB, make sure to format the USB stick to fat32 and default sector's on the windows format and unzip and copy to the root directory. Ntfs and exfat will not work it thinks it is not an update file and comes up with the wrong menu. When done right just sticking the USB into the TV will show the update screen and it copying the file to the TV.

All hdr apps work as before so no issues like some in USA had with their update and it was easily fixed by reinstalling the apps anyways.

Doesn't it update automatically OTA?

Not at the moment, they are basically sending out the update OTA "internet connected TV" by specific areas so not to crash their servers when all the TVs needing the Oreo "android 8" update all at once, so they basically do it by regions.

You can download it yourself and install it right now only via USB or you maybe the lucky one that gets it via OTA if you click the check for update in the about section. Mine said I was updated but on the old version still.

It's a 2GB update almost.

Quite a few people reporting issues with ARC after the update. I’ve got a Sonos Beam connected via Optical and it’s working fine.

I will have to check that once I get the the Pioneer LX-701 AVR all wired up again as was updating the whole setup speakers AVR, power amps and speakers to 7.3.4 (yes 3 subs .. don't ask... ) I ended up having to buy 2 sets of the 5.1.2 Focal Sib Evos to get a second set of the atmos speakers as Focal are drinking to much wine and took over a month to send me the wrong sib evo speakers in the end.. So gave up and got a second set of the first ones and ended up with a 3rd sub as I wanted to use my previous sub and the new focal one to make it 7.2.4 , also ended up with 3 spare speakers now too...
