Sony Xperia 1 II - A return to form for Sony?

I was waiting and waiting, glad I did it! Thought I would have been safe till the 18th, and I was planning to wait till the last few days.
 
As a user who has very little use of the camera the Xperia 1 has been a fantastic phone for me. Still feels premium and fresh, screen and form are fantastic.

If the II builds on this then that's great, bit I don't see a reason to change just yet :)

Read on the O2 community forum that if order was placed before the 8rh June you should have it on launch day (tomorrow) - courier permitting.

Guess we'll start getting despatch emails tonight?

4th of June here so hopefully tomorrow. Looking forward to having a new phone and for once no contract after 3 months. I always used to buy my phone outright but then switched to contract as phones were getting too expensive. Nice to be free again..
 
Is launch day tomorrow? If so it says you'll have your phone dispatched so you receive it on launch day.
I've heard nothing though.
 
Ditto - I've seen a few people in Europe have received already...

Damn shame if we don't get it tomorrow.

I wouldn't be surprised to receive a midnight email from courier or something advising it's on the way though.
 
Haven't had a email or text, but just checked my o2 and says it's been dispatched by DPD with tracking so should be here at some stage today woop.

Good, hopefully the same for the rest of us then, as I haven't had a peep out of O2 since the original confirmation emails
 
Mine says on its way, 3-5 days........ So much for having our on launch day.
Looks like DPD, so hopefully wrong and comes today

Think that's a standard email - which allows them time for delays and doesn't cause huge amounts of calls to their customer services teams when the device doesn't arrive. They're just building a safety margin in for themselves.

My email says exactly the same thing yet the DHL tracking shows its due to arrive today - believe it when I see it though (would have felt more reassured if it was DPD!)

If its at the DPD depot now I'd say its pretty much assured you'll get it today. I've had things arrive (or get checked into) the local DPD depot early mornings frequently and it always arrives that day. You might not know the delivery window until about 10:30 - 11am today though.
