Sony Xperia 1 II - A return to form for Sony?

If you search for the model number XQAT51B you can see listing for Belgium, Holland and the Czech Republic. Ignoring the Czech Republic it looks like 1199 euros and May 18th release date
 
Loved my Sony handsets, but they always were so slow with updates... Never again. The likes of OnePlus have shown what customer service is all about.
 
Allegedly last week of the month in Japan..
Sony are so **** at release date info, in fact they are just **** when it comes to releasing new phones in general...
 
Up for Preoreder at B&H Photo in the states for $1,198. So should be around the £1000 mark here. Will wait for reviews but it better have class leading Photo and Video capability for me to buy at that price.
 
I know we've got the virus situation going on which may wreck havoc on supply chains but it's still looking like Sony's mobile division is just an afterthought for them.

Other launches have all been like this with phones then just appearing and retailers as surprised as everyone else.
 
I quite liked the aspect ratio when I had my Xperia 10 plus. Had more screen on show with the keyboard in use. But I can also easily live without it.
 
Seems Preoreders start on the 1st of June and may be bundled with the wireless earbuds.

I am impressed by what I have seen so far. Seems very capable for Video and Photos.
