Spartacus: Blood and Sand

hes awesome the black guy with the whip is by far the most epic character in the show though

Its a complete joke he's even in it though IMO. The fact the whole show nicks so much from the 300 style and they take MADNESS!? from it aswell. He does fit the role nicely though, I just can't help but scream THIS IS SPARTA! every time he's on screen.

And what exactly is wrong with that?
The TV and the film industry plagiarise themselves all the time if something is successful and it's gone on for at least 5 decades.

Meh seen the first two episodes of this and yes at times, the acting is horrific (male lead does a decent job) and the dialogue is just plain stupid and ridiculous. It's mindless fun and shouldn't be taken too seriously I guess.

This is why I watched it. Some of the most horrendous acting I've ever seen, and the writing is even worse...but it's entertaining :D

Excellent news about Whitfield's recovery, now not only can we look forward to the prequel mini-series, but to the actual full second season next year too (hopefully).

I loved it.

Was unsure at first and it was WAY too stylised, but they toned it down and I was on the edge of my seat watching it, sticking my tongue out and yelling YEEEEAH at the bad-ass fighting scenes.

Sit down, put it on and just WATCH IT! Less nit picking about accents, whether the acting is award worthy. People read too much and listen to too much opinion and write things off so very easily these days. If I trusted IMDB reviews and forum posts I would not of watched half of what I have done, a large amount of which has been thoroughly epic.

Stick with it, it develops nicely.

Loving this.... told my misses to watch it while i went out, said its like gladiator.... she's now in love with Spartacus the guy and the series!

And there's the thing. There may be lots of boobies and "down there's" but there are just as many boobies and winkies of the blokes... Equal opportunity nudity.:p

I was the same. When Batiatus' plan finally starts to come together I was proper whooping and even managed a hip hop sample "YEEEEEEEEE BOOOOIIIII!!" :p

Just finished watching the first season last night. Brilliant ending and a great season. Love the fight scenes and special effects. I really like the characters too. Really glad to hear Andy is well to start doing season 2, can't wait to see what happens.

Woah at the last 2 episodes of this season! :o

Really enjoyed the whole thing, first few episodes werent so good but essential to the story.

I really want to see what happens next, my thirst for justice has not been fully satisfied as one woman in particular seemed to escape!

Just finished this season, after watching the last 8 episodes back to back in a Sparticus marathon - I dont think any show other than The Wire has ever gripped me so much, absolutely fantastic.

The thing I like about the show is that it doesnt pull any punches, its brutal, it knows its brutal, and it doesnt shy away from some pretty disturbing acts within the storyline.

I watched all 13 back to back because I couldn't wait for the next one.
