Staples's 'Kashmir' Managers Chair

Doing the Sainsbury's shop I thought I'd take a trip to Staples across the road to see what's new. I want to change my chair as the one I got a while back has started to make a noise when moving around in it, it is still in new condition and functions as new as well. just makes a loud click noise from the gas lift area when shifting about in it.

Anyway, I saw this:

The shop was close to closing time so I didn't have much time to decide, I may pop back tomorrow. It was extremely comfortable, the back support bolster is adjustable, the armrests are adjustable and the headrest is adjustable. The recline goes quite far back so perfect for slouching back watching a movie or snoozing.

Anyone got one?

You're buying a new chair because your current one clicks when you move?! Blimey, obviously a very 'particular' fellow!

Edit: Anyone with the Kashmir could you measure the outside of the arm rest to the other outside of the arm rest, and say how wide it is in cm/mm, it says 514mm on the website but I dont know if that's taking the armrests into account or not.

At its widest point it's 620mm...not sure what 514 is tbh as the armrests are as wide as the widest part of the frame.

Edit: 514mm would appear to be the width of the back.

It's a rather loud click.

I'm trying to turn it into an excuse to buy a new chair. Maybe I'll just burn it?

I have this problem. Can be very annoying if you're working late.

Sounds like a cheap porno with the squeaking and clicking :o:D

bought a Kashmir earlier in week. a doddle to assemble, comfortable and a lot less sweaty back than from previous leather chair

Mine is still going strong! Love it!

The gas thingy is behaving oddly sometimes when I first sit down but lifting the lever fixes it quickly.

On sale again now 50% off.

Is it really that good? I was thinking either this or a Markus from Ikea.

655mm

I bought mine at some point in late 2009. I went into staples needing a new chair, intending to spend around £50, but as soon as I sat in the Kashmir, I knew I had to have it, it was ~£130 iirc. The padding isn't what it used to be, the paint on the arms has flaked in many places, most of the screw hole covers are missing and it suffers from the 'click' that many other people have mentioned. However, considering it's about 4 years old, and has been in very heavy use since I got it, I'm fairly pleased with how it has held up. It's still very comfortable and none of the fabric is really visibly worn. Previously, with cheaper office chairs, I tended to get around a year of heavy use from them before they were absolutely knackered.

My chair is looking a bit worse for wear and I'd like something cheap to tide me over until I see something better, so could someone be kind enough to give a few measurements for me?

I'd like to know, with the chair at its maximum height, the height from where the wheels touch the floor to the base of the seat (the side you sit on) once the cushioning is all squashed down by your weight etc, and also the height for the top of the arm rest, like this:

I'd really appreciate it, thanks! :)

My Staples Kashmir is well due a change probably 1.5 years after purchase. The bottom has gone its now uncomfy to sit on.

10 stone and general 4 hours a day use max.

Not sure I will go again for the cost. Things do wear out mind you
