Steam Summer Sale 2018

bought that pc building simulator and ended up getting a refund. no idea what i was thinking getting it in the first place, so little in it depth wise imo.

i'll spend the money on shadow warrior 2 instead.

Absolutely, found a cave with a rope, climbed all the way down with my lighter, heard the screeching and saw something move, nope nope climbed back up :)

I was playing with mates the other night, and they'd buggered off to explore a cave and I stayed in base to do some building. That was until I realised I had 'friends' so I hid in a bush for ages while they screamed and ran around. They found me though.

N.B. \ in game makes you look at your hands to see if they're bloody. It's not mentioned in the key bindings and it's not rebindable, which is rather annoying as it's my PTT key and the majority of the time I've spent on the forest I didn't know, so it made me useless in fights.

Yes I was going to buy the GOTY version on Steam but then my character would be back to zero! It's a pain.

Your character and progress will continue on as normal if you get it on Steam. The game saves files locally and I don't think that Steam will use a different folder (unless you use cloud saves, which you won't the first time you run the game because you don't have a save on Steam yet). They're in Documents\My Games\The Witcher 3. Perhaps take a copy of this folder before you run it on Steam, but your saves and configuration should carry across onto your Steam game.

Just be careful if you have modded the game anything on the GOG side, might be problem then. Although if used a mod manager you most likely be fine, but if done it manually might be a problem.

On another note, just went and bought the game myself on steam too.

So now I have the complete Witcher trilogy on both Steam and GOG. :o Just started a 3rd run on W2 so be doing W3 again once that one is done.

Yeah, fantastic game. The Knife of Dunwall and The Brigmore Witches were great also for DLC, just as good as the main game and also on offer.

Not sure what you'd be in to for co-op games but these are excellent:

Don't Starve Together
Divinity: Original Sin 1/2
Dying Light
Civilization 5/6
Trine 2 (1 was unfortunately just local co-op I believe)
Borderlands 1/2
Torchlight 2
Magicka

Divinity co-op is fantastic. Started on Div 2 and... it's not hooked me yet but pretty much everyone seems to consider it nothing short of amazing. A lot of folks rate it as 2017 game of the year.

Time for recommendations.. I own all of these so going off that.

Euro Truck Simulator 2: £3.74 (Best with mods) (Also the DLC's are very cheap now too if you need to stock up on them)

Quake: 99p
Quake 2: 99p
Witcher 3 GOTY Edition: £13.99
The Long Dark: £5.94
Just Cause 3 XL: £4.49
Mad Max: £3.39
Spintires Mudrunner: £2.49 (at the time of posting)
Farming Simulator 2017: £7.99 (Best with mods)
Tomb Raider GOTY: £3.74
Dishonored: £1.99
Mafia 1: £5.35 (Old title but mods keep it alive but it has "technology" which was way ahead of it's time.)
Mafia 2: £4.99
Just Cause 2: £1.99
Risk of Rain: £1.74
GTA Vice City: £2.09
E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy: £2.09 (Bit of a weird title, but needs thought to play it and win)
rFactor: £5.69 (Best with mods and a wheel)

That's me gone through 100 pages of Top Sellers, phew.

Hope it helps :)

Mudrunner is a brilliant game, loads of fun churning your way through mud, swamps and rivers hauling logs etc. It's quite a relaxing game and you can just enjoy the actual mechanics of playing it.

NOTE
Mudrunner is showing £2.49 because I own the original sorry! It will be slightly more expensive otherwise.

@koooowweeee partially. You can roam on user made maps with nearly any off road vehicle you can think of, make your own maps with the Spintires Editor etc. Lot more new vehicles than old especially on the Workshop.

I picked up Vice City in the sale and have not really wanted anything this year.

I'm now about 10 hours in to Doom.

Honestly wasn't sure if like it but one of the best £10 I've spent on a game.

Really worth a go if you've never played it.

It’s an incredible achievement imo. It totally captures the essence of the originals, it’s beautiful and incredibly well optimised. I’ve never played a game that makes you feel like a total badass and yet never makes you feel OP.

You can pick up all 3 F.E.A.R game plus all the DLC for £3.27 in the bundle Fanatical do: https://www.fanatical.com/en/bundle/fear-bundle

That’s how I bought it.

Completed them years ago but I plan do the lot again. I love older FPS titles, and the story, gunplay and atmosphere, especially in the first, is superb.

I’m a brown trousers kind of guy though, so I don’t play it at night when the mrs is in bed :D
