Subnautica

That was me :D

I still havent got around to finishing it, my base runs from the shallows near to where you start, all the way down to the lava tunnels. Almost down to the deepest parts but other games came along and I never got around to doing the last few hundred metres yet.

Its taken A LOT of harvesting of resources but its at a point now where I can literally run on foot all the way down to the edge of the lava areas lol

Doesn’t it get constantly attacked by the locals?

I chose a careful path which didnt take me too close to the mobs, sometimes if I loiter in one of the rooms or tunnels the mobs which teleport you will teleport you out of the corridors but generally they dont react quick enough as I run down the corridors past them.

Have you got a video of your base on YouTube YouTube? I’d love to see what constructions other people have made.

Havent made a video yet , originally I was going to complete the base right down to the lowest point and then make a video of me running the length of it, but as I never got around to finishing the last bit I havent made a video. As its xmas and I have time off I may well go back and finish it off now and whip a video up.

Do you think the save games will be interchangeable between the Epic version and the Steam version? I want to buy it on Steam if it's in the sales later in the week but would not really like to start all over again at this late stage.

I would think so, I'm guessing you can just move the savegame file from one to the other

Why would you want to buy it on steam when you've got it free on Epic?

I played it early on and get very close to finishing but I couldn't build a certain something so had to leave without completing the game.

This time with the Epic version i'm using console commands to help me speed through it a little faster, mainly regarding resource gathering. I don't get resources I've not actually found in the game, I am just saving time collecting them.

I do enjoy the game and will be looking at their new one as well

I think I’m about to finish the game. Sad times. Really enjoyed it. It’s one of those rare games that never felt like it was dragging at all. In fact, I could have gone on for days more.

The tension whilst piloting the sub is unbelievable... I took it for a spin at the end, I didn’t dare touch it beforehand as it gets destroyed pretty quick. Or runs out of power.

Looks like I made an error talking about Subnautica on Steam. It doesn't have cloud saving after all. What a crock!

Plus the Steam version seems to be well out of date, version 61056 v 61919 on Epic.

From the Subnautica forum : reply from a hour ago - "The current version of Subnautica on Steam is 61957 (in experimental branch). I don't know what version is in the public branch, but probably the 61056 which you mentioned." ...

I suggest you contact Epic and ask them why there's a different version.
