Which CL teams tried to sign Auba, at least at the amount Arsenal paid for him? So many big sides signed attackers around the time you went for Auba and nobody went for him as far as I remember. And PSG's interest in Pepe is about the same level as Liverpool - he's been whored out by Lille & his agent all summer. If you really believe he's choosing Arsenal over PSG then you're off your trolly rob.

And I really don't remember anybody of note being interested in Laca.
 
Some players buy into the long term project and sign for teams that aren't necessarily doing well now. Arsenal still have a pull, a lot of the players grew up watching us in the peak Wenger years.

If players only signed for teams in the Champions League, Liverpool would never have pulled themselves out of the mire.
 
Actually I’m relieved that the likes of Utd, Liverpool, Barca, PSG and Real haven’t gone for the likes of Laca and Auba this window.
As much as I like getting attacking players in, we do need some solid defenders. The likes of Mustafi, Xhaka aren’t cutting it. Also Mhiki and ozil are another 2 that aren’t cutting it in our squad so they will have to really up their games if they want to play.

We already saw Emery bench Ozil and sub him off in games, so unlike Wenger who had too much faith in him. Emery doesn’t give a toss about big name players. They don’t do well, they get benched till they prove themselves and I’m liking that from him.

AM were dead set on Laca until they was hit with a transfer ban.
 
Also Barca were rumoured to be sniffing around Laca as well. Then there was rumours that Utd were sniffing around Auba as well.

But hey rumours, gotta love them.

He was left with the choice of playing for a very underrated but great team....called Le Arsenal :p.

Anyhow he can’t leave, he’s permanently attached to his bff Auba :p

Don’t be jinxing it lol. Who knows he may do well over there, seeing as it’s a weaker league compared to the PL.

I know we value him at £30mill or so but if Monaco bid less than that, then just sell him. Hell I’ll even take him there myself:p.
