Summer Transfer Thread 2019

Apparently Welbeck can't find a club as he's demanding £100k a week and a £5m signing on fee. Don't know if I believe it. He can't be that deluded.

Not great examples considering Ibra is playing in America...

...in the twilight of his career after a serious injury and also playing for multiple tops teams around the top European leagues and been successful, there couldn't be a better example of a professional that has tested the extent of his abilities across multiple leagues. But then he hasn't won the Champions League so he's obviously crap.

Ronaldo went to Juve, one of the biggest clubs in the world on megabucks. Did he take a pay cut? I don't think so. Where are the indications that Bale had any offers like that?

Ronaldo wasn't being pushed out of Real like Bale is, and he's going to be raking it in regardless of what he does on the pitch thanks to images rights etc. But, then I'd argue it is a step down to the Italian league currently, especially to Juve as they are too dominant. But then he's at least stayed in Europe and can compete in the Champions League still, and he was 3 years older than what Bale is when making the move away from Real.

Bale isn't in the same league as those two players and he knows it, hence the sodding of to China. He could have held out for a proper team as I understood he was still under a sizeable and lengthy contract with Real. He didn't have to agree.

Apparently we'll also be getting another CB and a FB. Will be a lot happier if that happens.
I've heard the Tierney deal is close, and Emery's looking at loaning Rugani for a year until Saliba returns. If we got them over the line as well as Pepe, it would the best transfer window in the premier league tbh and the best one of ours for years.

This lineup would get me pretty excited tbh.

And we'd still have the likes of Holding, AMN, Iwobi, Xhaka, Guendouzi, Mkhi, Nelson, Willock, Nketiah, all pushing for their chance.

One of these days Arsenal will stop buying attackers and buy a defence eh!

While I agree that Arsenal do need a quality defender, there is no denying that Arsenal are in need of a winger as well, we currently have Iwobi and Mkhitaryan, both I'm pretty sure are not their preferred positions.
Saliba looks good, just a shame he has been loaned back, but I think that may do him good in the long run.

1. You can't afford Koulibaly
2. Why would he move to Arsenal?

Just like we couldn't afford Pepe with our 45m budget.

*I don't like to believe anything until a player is wearing the shirt though*

Did you know some players actually like to challenge themselves, instead of moving to a club that has CL league football already and all the trophies in the world.

Those players are generally the ones that doen't have the option of joining a club already in the CL and challenging for trophies though ;)

Well it looks like Pepe could have got his move to PSG if he really wanted it. Auba could have joined a champions league team, so could Laca.
