You really do not have a clue do you? Have you ever thought that a value for a player is based on his worth to the team he is leaving and not just purely based on image rights? Alonso has been immense for Liverpool over the last few seasons, and the difference when he doesn't play is clear for all to see.
I really wish I could swear at you.
I really wish I could swear at you, value isn't based purely on the team selling or the worth to the squad, especially when the manager has made it very clear he wanted to get rid of him the year before.
Fans might want him, the manager couldn't more clearly not give a monkeys about the guy which also affects his value.
I also didn't remotely come close to suggesting value is based purely on image rights, but they do add up in the grand equation.
If Ronaldo is worth 10million a year in income for image rights, then a selling club has less financial incentive to sell him, hence his price goes up. Ronaldo is a better player than Alonso to start with, aswell as being far more valuable and his selling club not actively trying to sell him the year before.
SO in other words, you think Alonso is worth 30mil because Liverpool fans what him, thats altogether fine. However his manager wants to get rid of him, he's worth little in terms of image rights, and several clubs weren't all trying to buy him like Benezema.
So i'm basing his value based on the market, the interest and the managers involved, you're basing his value on the fact that the fans don't want him to go. Funny, because to me, the fans valuation of a player has never once impacted sale price, while all the other things I was considering, always have determined the price. For instance, Arsenal fans generally thought Ade was never worth 25mil and would be happy to see Eboue leave for free, yet that has no bearing on their actual market value.
EDIT:_ another example would be Eto'o, Barca did want to sell, despite being a quality striker he went for next to nothing, while Zlatan, who the CLUB didn't want to leave was ludicrously expensive in comparison. Considering Eto'o was the most prolific player at the club and incredibly important, that didn't effect his price at all, while the fact they wanted him out AND TRIED TO GET RID OF HIM PREVIOUSLY meant he went for way under market value.
