**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

Fair enough, I haven't seen him play many times so I don't know if he's generally dirty, but this video is quite shocking, can't do that on a football field, way out of line!

Linky

I don't want to take this thread off course, but that's why he got booked, because he was out of line. The ref got it right, it didn't deserve any more than that.

Didn't see a loan coming!

Jonathan Greening is set to join Fulham from West Brom on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent move.

The two clubs have agreed a deal on undisclosed terms and the move is now subject to Greening passing a medical.

Good deal there then, probably a lower transfer fee too!

6 positions we have, Eduardo, RVP, Vela, Bendtner, Theo, Fabregas, Song, Eboue, Denilson, Arshavin, Nasri, Rosicky, Wilshire, Ramsey, Traore(probably being loaned out by end of August), so we have 15 people for those positions, with a large portion of those players able to play anywhere across the middle, depth? Why does anyone think Arsenal have no depth, we have FAR more depth than Chelsea in midfield, we have better quality back up than Utd upfront and in midfield, and personally I'd take our reserve of Nasri, Rosicky, Vela, Eduardo, Wilshire, Ramsey over anyone Liverpool have in midfield except Gerrard, reserve or not.

The loan for Greening is bizarre considering they laughed off a 3million offer for a pretty average greening who iirc is in the last year of his contract, surely that means they get him without a fee, then, he can sign for free next year anyway, maybe it was two years left in which case the fee would only be lower next year anyhow. For a team that laughed at 3million and called it derisory, to then loan him out is very strange.

Hopefully he forgot that Mascherano exists
As well as Aquilani (if he's any good), Yossi and Kuyt. Also appears to have classed Vela and Eduardo as midfielders which I don't think either are? Ramsey and Wilshire I've not seen nearly enough of to comment on but if they were good enough surely they'd be playing week in week out already?

Good point on Yossi and maybe Aquilani, but I'd take the midfielders he listed over Kuyt probably, anyway, his point was rubbish

Kuyt gets a lot of **** but 16 goals and around the same in assists last season speaks for itself. With Ronaldo gone, he's the most productive wide midfielder in the league.

Anyway, regarding the VdV stories; if there is any truth in them then surely it would have to be some kind of loan deal rather than a transfer.

Vela played on the Left in his loans times in Spain.

Both Ramsey and JFW are too young to play ever week, however JFW will be awesome though.

In terms of depth, best squad in the league?

Vela and Eduardo have played multiple times on the left wing.

You also don't have to be so pedantic, Ramsey hasn't proven himself to be better than say, Kuyt, but I said i'd take the whole lot over your lot.

Rosicky is better than Kuyt, Nasri is better than Rieri, everyone is better than Babbel(except at rapping apparently), then for our real reserves, Ramsey, Wilshire and the likes I'd take them over your reserves with ease aswell. I didn't include Mascherano, as I didn't name any DM's I'd take over yours, which is fairly obvious as I think ours are hilariously bad.

As I very clearly said I'd take our RESERVES over yours, indicating our depth is better than yours. Wilshire/Ramsey are frankly very very good and really should be getting some games this year and deserve to. Considering I'd take our first team midfield over yours aswell, this is what I'm getting at.

Chelsea have frankly poor wingers and in terms of numbers they only have(well had I guess) Cole, Kalou and Malouda, we have 15 players who can play across the middle, even if you determine that Utd/Chelsea/Liverpool have a better first team midfield 4, can any of those teams say they have 15 people who geniunely can play in top games and be useful.

Likewise on the striker front, Chelsea have Drogba and Anelka, and no one else, Utd have Rooney(not a striker) Berb, Owen and Macheda, Liverpool have Torres, Gerrard, Ngog, Voronin.

Arsenal have RVP, Eduardo, Vela, Bendtner, Arshavin, Nasri...... and Theo who can play that far forward.

We have 3 left backs, arguably one of the best in the league, probably the best backup in the league, one of the best right backs in the league, a very very good back up, two great defenders, but no back up there of any quality.

Yes a lot of our depth comes from the fact that the majority of our attacking outfield players can play 2 or more positions, but we still have a huge number of would be starters, where I wouldn't say Chelsea have a choice of who to play, nor Liverpool and Utd clearly don't as with a weakened team they played a slow fat poor AMC as a winger, an OAP as an AMC, a slow midget on the right and they got beaten by Burnley.

Yes and no, Spurs really do have the most ridiculous squad in the league, and considering what Bent was supposedly on I'd truly love to know what all the players were making.

But while the second team is very good, the first team really lacks truly great players. Honestly I think only maybe Defoe and Palacios would be starting games if those players were spread in the top 4 teams. Theres a lot of good players there, just not great.

To be fair, it still stands, I said I'd take our reserves, over yours, didn't state reserves if you want to be ultra pedantic and I'll pretend thats what I meant.

Its still true our reserves aren't really reserves, yours, are. None of your reserves you would ever consider playing for 38 games in a season at the expense of others. IN Eduardo, Rosicky, Nasri, Wilshire and Ramsey, you wouldn't consider them worse players, just different.

Theres a signifcantly drop off in quality between Liverpools normal midfield and strikers, to their reserves, are Arsenal theres really not. Drogba and Anelka, to Sturridge and Shev, Rooney and Berbatov to Macheda and Welbeck, Torres and Gerrard, to Voronin and N'gog, or RVP and Eduardo, to Bendtner and Vela(Bendtner and Arshavin, Arshavin and Nasri, Nasri and Theo, etc, etc). Our second string, is very very good all over the pitch except DM/CD.

That's fair enough, but until they actually do something, what use is it?
