**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

It will all end in tears at Middle EastLands mark my words. Bar some of the players he bought last year, a lot of the players city have bought have all had hissy fits in one way or another.

Tevez, Toure, Adebayor, Santa Cruz, Robhino, Barry and now Lescott. MCFC or MerCenary FC ???

AFAIK Toure, Ade, Santa Cruz, Robinho, Barry and Tevez are all players who did nothing.

Toure isn't in Wengers first team plans and wanted to move, no fuss, no bother, done quickly and easily. Tevez, was a free agent, Adebayor was shipped out this summer and didn't actually insist on a move himself, even if he was looking for a move last summer. Santa Cruz, hardly a fuss made, Robinho only kicked up a stink after Real Madrid tried to get rid of him in a part transfer, so it was very clearly the club making the first move in getting him out.

Barry last year got back to action and played great all year without refusing to play or being deemed "not in the right midset to play" and this years transfer was easy and quick.

Isn't Lescott the only player who has actually requested a transfer to get a move to city?

The simple fact is, I'd be incredibly suprised if any less than 99% of transfer couldn't have been considered as tapping up. Theres very little point a club putting in offers for players without knowing from agent/player there is at least an interest in moving.

So what, whats so wrong with asking a player if he'd like to come to your club?

Is it not fine to interview for new jobs while continuing to work at your current job in every other professional job in the world?

I'm yet to be convinced by Greening, he's not looked particularly special whenever I've seen him.

I'm sure Roy knows what he's doing, so this could turn out to be a smart little move.

How much are you paying for him ?

Greening is a loan deal with a option to be permanent iirc.

Indeed, I'm fully aware it's a loan deal.

Have Fulham agreed a fee now for him ?
That will go through at the end of the season ?

Yeah, it's a loan with a fee agreed. Although i'd say it's similar to the original Giles Barnes deal, being a fee at the end IF we want him, otherwise we'd just buy him. I think he's on a bosman next season, so it can't be too high. I'm not 100% sure of the deal specifics tbh :/

Stephen Warnock for £8 million, wtf has the world come to.

Rovers player of the season last year; can play at left back, centre back and in midfield and most importantly, hes ENGLISH. Therefore the transfer value is instantly doubled.

I'd say he's one of our most important players and I don't think 8 mil is even close to our valuation of a player that we want to keep.

Indeed, I couldn't see it been a "massive" amount, probably a few million.
I'll wait until I've seen him play a few times before making a proper judgement on him as a Fulham player.

Very, didn't see this coming to be honest.

Strange, Don't really understand why you'd sign him even as back up if you're Manchester City, you could do much better.

He still played 20 games for a treble winning side last year(28 with substitutions). So he was good enough as backup for the best side in the world last year, but you think theres much much better backup you could get? Who exactly?

He's still a very good player, still pretty damn fast, is excellent as cover and could well be given a coaching role aswell. Even if he's not, they get another year, maybe even two years of excellent cover while they wait for someone else to become available as a longer term solution.

Its an astute signing, experience, someone who can not play in 5 games, come in for the next one and play at almost his best. He's buying cheap and known quality aswell as a player with experience at the highest level of competition.

I would argue theres few better he could have got.

Rumours that Anderson and SAF have had a huge bust up because Anderson was left out of the Charity Shield match, now he wants to leave as he wont back down

He is a reasonable player who I had high hopes for the future so sad to see him leave (if its true), but he hasnt really improved as much as maybe he should have - he would need to be replaced (with experience) in the squad

By all means bring in kids - but Gibson isnt ready for that kind of role yet (a bit like Anderson a decent game followed by a number of dodgy ones)

IF rumour is true of course (personally would like additions in central midfield anyway whether true or not, but its looking less and less likely with under a week to go)

I cant help but feel that If Anderson was at a club like Arsenal or Barcelona he would have progressed to be a truly awesome player.
