**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

I cant help but feel that If Anderson was at a club like Arsenal or Barcelona he would have progressed to be a truly awesome player.

pure speculation - we have developed talent that arrived at Utd younger than Anderson was when he arrived into amongst the best in their position (Rooney, Ronaldo to name two ), Johnny Evans has come on hugely and impressed in even shorter time frame and is younger, Evra was a similar kind of age (if my memory serves correctly but Im not entirely sure)

Just a few people over the last handful of years that surely prove that Utd can develope players of all types IF they work hard and reach their potential

Remember of course we dont always get it right with developed /experienced players either (Smith, Veron, hell even Berba has so far not lived up to transfer fee) - sometimes it happens

Nothing imo that shows Utd failed him like you suggest

I seem to remember when a few United fans were raving on about Anderson being better than Fabregas. He looked so promising at first but his progress seems to have stalled somewhat. Seriously high amount of potential there though.

Very true, his first season with us he was brilliant, completely owned Fabregas in the first two games he played against them likewise Gerrard at Anfield.

Last season like Nani he seemed to stall somewhat and again like Nani really need to see a step up from him this season in what could be make or break time

Frustrates the hell out of me the way people talk about him on here because as you said in his first season he showed the potential to be one of the best in the world - something a certain Lucas has never done ;)

Well sol to notts county is a done deal by the looks of it. Our defense is currently good in the air and slow, I don't see how he will change that but it will raise the profile of the club and he has bags of experiance. Still an odd move for him must be paying him more than sven.

I don't think people have really been getting over excited over Macheda, did you see any calls for him when we were losing to Burnley? He's an exceptionally talented and mature 17 year old.

Happy birthday dude! Haved a great one! :D Any relation to killerkebab? :p Just thought it was a coincidence you both share the same birthday and you're both kebabs.

This transfer window has been a bit pants really, I still reckon we need a playmaker for central midfield as none of the current squad can score more than a few goals a season there. And Frank don't believe those rumours about Anderson, same sort of crap went about when Carrick didn't feature a few games ago.

I reckon a swoop into Everton would pay dividends, Jagielka and Cahill/Arteta for Park and £20m. :D

I'm curious as to what's happened with this supposed Senderos move to Everton. Supposedly it was all but done and dusted weeks ago, and he was most likely a replacement for the inevitably-leaving Lescott. Only the latter has all but gone now, and all the rumours seem to be about other defenders that the toffees are chasing. Yet there's been absolutely no mention of young Philippe on our end either. He's become persona non grata.

Wherefore art thou, Swiss Tony?

No he didn't, the combination of 2 DM's, him and Hargreaves nullified Cesc,

Head to Head Anderson completely did over Csec in Anderson's first season

It was only last season that you could argue that it was a combination of our midfield 3 against yours, I remember the 2-2 at the Emirates and the 4-0 at OT and Anderson completely out performed Fabregas

Funny that, because Lucas just got called up to the national side and well, Anderson didnt. ;)

How many games has Lucas had to play for Liverpool? How many has Anderson played for us?

Brazil have fallen on such hard times that they called up Lucas huh!! Wonders will never cease :D

Thanks :) Not as far as I know! I did discover that last year and thought it was an incredible coincidence!

Hapyy birthday mate - hope you have a great day.

I was gonna jest about the result of the gooners game as your "present" but that would be asking for trouble

Some have indeed remained calm and understanding of the growth of players, others were literally creaming themselves and ready to hail Macheda as the new Pele after a certain goal last season.
