** Summer Transfer Window 2011/12 Season Rumours/Signings **

Completely forgot he would only have 12 months left. Would certainly mean he would be cheaper but I still don't think he's the type of player we should be looking at if we want to move forward.

Maybe the player of 4 seasons ago that managed 17 assists in the league but since then he's gone backwards and doesn't appear to offer much of a threat other than when tackled in the oppositions penalty box :p

There's better options than Young around but he'd still be a big improvement on and offer us something different to the players we've got in the wide positions.

It all depends on what sort of money we're going to have to spend in the summer and how we decide is the best way to spread over the 5+ players I suspect we'll sign in the summer. Young for sub £15m would be decent value and might enable us to spend more improving other positions. If we could pick up Young and N'Zogbia (for example) for ~£25m, I'd rather we did that than spend £30m on 1 player like Hazzard.

Well id love Honda too but i sense its just not going to happen at all =/

Well you never know, CSKA said a couple of weeks ago that they "would only sell Honda if a bid meeting their valuation, £12m, came in". For them to say that they must be at least considering the chance of accepting an offer if it came.

Don't know anything about Honda but bar a poor goalscoring record what exactly would he offer? Not talking about FM or FIFA stats btw :p

He isnt really a goalscorer, what he offers is pace and a whole lot of creativity and an ability to pinpoint a pass, cross or free kick. Plus in financial terms, it never hurts to have an asian player who is considered a star within that locale for the potential revenue that comes with a following there.

He is a player I have admired for a while and is one thats high on my own personal shortlist (along with Simon Kjaer and Steven Defour)

Isn't he pretty old?

27, a bit old for Utd's normal policy, but good for a 5 year deal and at 18m is a cheap deal for a player of that kind of quality and experience.

Utd have shown that they lack a midfield general of the ilk of Robson, Keane or Cantona and they are few and far between.

Di Rossi would certainly fill that criteria, because neither Carrick nor Fletcher have proven to have what it takes.

Would be shocked if we got him at that price. I'd still say an attacking midfielder is more important than a defensive one.

Given our frailties at the back in the past season I would disagree with you. We have attacking options galore, a little more stability and stopping power in the middle of the park would help balance the team somewhat.

We lack any creativity in the centre, with Scholes most likely retiring and Giggs being another year closer to retirement it's only going to become a bigger problem. Both Carrick and Fletcher, whilst not being the best at it are primarily defensive midfielders.

What keepers do people think will move, if any? I've really no idea for United, I'd love Akinfeev but he'll cost a pretty penny, don't really know much about other young quality GKs apart from seeing De Gea a few times and thinking he looks rather handy?

rumours that Blackpool's Adam going to Utd for £20m in the summer - and that its a done deal

I smell something potent around here lol - I cant see even Fergie agreeing to spend that much (even for a decent dead ball player like Adam), and I highly doubt its a done deal either.....just like our (re) interest in Snieijder (well ok Im sure a lot of teams would be interested, but doesnt mean it will lead to anything).

The more I read about De Rossi arriving at Utd the more I think its just "rumour of the week" rather than anything substantial.

1) He is a lot older than majority of players we are now buying
2) He is also quite a bit more expensive than majority we have bought recently
3) His affection for Roma is nearly as well known as Giggs's/Neville/ Scholes for Utd

(I know about the situation with his father dieing and his divorce as well as crowd displeasure at a few matches - but I will believe it when I see it)

He would be a brilliant addition to the 1st team but I just cant see it happening

We hardly have any creativity in the middle of the park (with Scholes playing so deep due to his legs), plus we need someone to play week in week out, not miss every other game etc. Utd have missed goals coming from central midfield for years and years - the odd one from Fletcher / Park/ Giggs (when he isnt wide) but nothing particularly regularly or that you can count on (like Lampard getting 20 a season like clockwork)

Fletcher isn't a defensive midfielder, and Carrick is a central midfielder who can go forward.

Nether have the quality however to step up in the absence of Scholes, and we are in desperate need of a Holding Midfield player of real quality, Di Rossi fills that gap.

It isn't always about attacking players, and the balance of a team hinges on the gaps between Defense <----> Midfield <----> Attack being adequately covered, we (in my humble opinion) have some issues with the gap between defence and midfield, a real quality holding central midfield player would add some balance to the team.

None of us know anyone either personally or by association who has any knowledge of the transfer dealings of any proffesional football club, and its embarrassing to claim otherwise.

I do, my dads David Moyes so I'm ITK regards Everton. So far I have nothing to report. We are hopefull of a Triple club cards scheme in the summer so we can cash in the vouchers for Sid who works the tills. He's a tidy 5 a side player on a wednesday night.

Hoping to play him for 12 months as a bit part player and sell him to fergie for 25 million.

Fletcher is technically a sort of box to box midfielder but if you had to put him in defensive or offensive he's definitely the former.

Carrick is a central midfielder who can go forward? By that I assume you mean he is capable of moving in a forwards direction, he is still a holding midfielder, just as Scholes is. He sits in front of the defence and distributes the ball.

I think Neuer, De Gae, Akinfeev and the dutch No 1 are all likely to move clubs in the summer (Im ignoring Reina as its still possible Liverpool could earn a CL spot, although unlikely). I also think its probable majority will cost £15m + , and possibly over £20m

Neuer will probably end up at Bayern - and Utd I think will end up with De Gae or the dutch No 1 , Lloris could also move and Akinfeev will probably be the replacement for Neuer/De Gae
