Apparently interest from Mancini in Andrea Pirlo today!

Give me strength, our main problem has been pace this year. People like Barry and Vieira have slowed us down so much this year. I just hope this is a rumour because as much as he can hit a freekick and pass all over the pitch he has no pace now.

Are you basing that on what his ratings are in Fifa? :D

I don't think Pirlo was ever really renowned for his blistering pace, but I never watched much Serie A so I don't really know everything about him. I just thought he would sit in the midfield, thread passes, take long shots and provide a good set piece taker for the club. He's only 31, it's not as if he's in his mid thirties, he'd be a decent signing at the right price. Way better than some of the other signings.

In the know, coined by idiot spurs fans a couple of years ago, normally a preface to some utter trash like "Defoe a done deal to united", "Joe Cole has signed for United" "Modric on his way" etc etc etc.

None of us know anyone either personally or by association who has any knowledge of the transfer dealings of any proffesional football club, and its embarrassing to claim otherwise.

meh, Dont know whats going on with Wigan players, no doubt will lose a few even if we stay up, no interest in players anymore, buy cheap players, turn into good players then sell on.

Spurs are the worst team for making up transfer talk, every big name in the passed 10 years has been linked, they are the Newcastle of the 90s

I'll happily take N'zogbia at Liverpool :D

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has claimed no club could bid enough money to convince him to part with Luka Modric.

Croatia midfielder Modric has been in scintillating form for Spurs this season, playing a key role in their run to the Champions League quarter-finals on their debut in the competition.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a host of rival clubs, including Chelsea, Juventus and Inter Milan, but Redknapp told Croatian newspaper Sportske Novosti: "I wouldn't want to sell him for £100million, not even for a billion. He's the hub of the team."

Modric signed a new six-year contract contract with Tottenham last summer and his agent Mario Mamic dismissed speculation about a move away.

"These are just rumours," he told Calcio Mercato. "Luka has a contract until 2016 and Tottenham have no plans to sell him.

"He has an excellent relationship with the coach, Redknapp, and only signed a contract extension with Spurs last summer."

:D

Rumours of us going for Ashley Young appearing again, Wouldnt mind him at liverpool tbh think he is a good player but can see us paying over the odds no doubt.

Really don't think Young's anything special. Had a fantastic season a few years ago but doesn't appear to have moved on from then. He's extremely average for a player that's touted as one of the best English wingers and for the price we'll pay for him we could get a far better player like Turan or a far younger player like Hazard.

I don't think Liverpool have much chance of signing young to be honest, I suspect he has his eyes on utd rather than Liverpool. I'd much rather we moved for Honda anyway, probably cheaper too at 10m than young who no doubt has +5m on top of his price for being English.

while there is always the "English" tax on a transfer for British player, Hazard is likely to cost in the £20m range (which wouldnt be unreasonable imo) , with only 12 months on his contract come the summer - Young should cost around 1/2 that price

(like you I think Young is a little average, and would prefer to pay - for arguements sake - double for Hazard any day of the week)

Completely forgot he would only have 12 months left. Would certainly mean he would be cheaper but I still don't think he's the type of player we should be looking at if we want to move forward.

Maybe the player of 4 seasons ago that managed 17 assists in the league but since then he's gone backwards and doesn't appear to offer much of a threat other than when tackled in the oppositions penalty box :p
