** Summer Transfer Window 2011/12 Season Rumours/Signings **

I see Torres is in the news again (talking in part about Liverpool....again...seems he just cant stop mentioning them), this time round he is saying that Fabregas will be vilified by the Arsenal fans in the same way that he has been by the Liverpool fans if he joins Barcelona.

Not sure I agree with that assessment at all Mr Torres. I actually think the Arsenal fans would respect Fabregas decision and thank him for staying when he did and doing what he has done before moving on to arguably the best club side in the world. Not sure you could compare the (possible) departure of Fabregas, in terms of timing and the way he has handled himself regarding a transfer, and the way that Torres performed his departure from Liverpool.

Has the champions league spending regulation not come into effect yet. I thought that they were making clubs only spend what they generate through their football else they would be excluded.

Chelsea have already spunked nearly £80 million this year. Cant see them doing the same again.

This summer is the last real opportunity to do it; hence why there will likely be massive transfers this summer from all clubs.

Some Spanish paper is suggesting we've agreed a €20 deal for De Gea, with the German keeper suggesting he'll be staying in Germany and Bayern announcing their interest in him today it seems like it could be a likely story.

Of course the German press a couple of weeks ago were convinced that Neuer was on his way to OT and history says the Spanish press is more unreliable than both the German and English press put together so probably a non story.

The January window just gone was the last opportunity actually (edit: and even that's not entirely true).

Any spending from now on will be included in first accounting period before the ffp regulations kick into play at the start of the 2013/14 season.

The way things are, Chelsea won't meet the regulations anyway and will be banned from Europe. Not that RA will care though, as by the 2013/14 season he'd have dropped Chelsea to conectrate on Russia's WC anyway ;)

There is no way these regulations will remain in tact if none of the big clubs can make it. Surely UEFA make most -- if not all -- of their money from TV revenue? Can you imagine how much that would drop is all the large European clubs were not even in the competition.

When you say all the large European clubs, who do you mean?

Other than Chelsea (and are they a large European club?), I can't think of many others that won't meet the requirements (providing nothing unusual happens in the next couple of years).

Saying that, I am and have always always been sceptical as to whether these regulations will be enforced.

Pretty sure:

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd, Juventus etc. are ALL reporting losses.

Saying that, I'm sure there will be ways around the regulations, loop holes etc.

Cant imagine that people like Abromavich and Sheikh Mansour etc will be investing now only to denied Champions League.
These people have made their money through investments so i am sure they know what their doing.

I think Neuer will stay in Germany, majority of their players seem to prefer their league (I know a couple moved to RM recently, but that seems to be a rarity)

The Chairman of AM recently is quoted as saying £18m isnt much money these days (lol), so I cant see it being as little as 20m euros - but you never know:)

LOL no quotes whatsoever from Ruud there suggesting he wants to rejoin us, english journalism at it's best :D

Very true - but it also wouldnt be that surprising either given how he feels about SAF and the club (and their patching up of the differences)

Rumour has it that Chelsea are considering a £100m naming rights deal for Stamford Bridge to get around this - as to legitimacy of this is anyone's guess though (and several reasons why a renaming of an existing stadium doesnt work in the first place)

Im sure you have seen the list /website going around months ago that stated the 15? ways City can cancel out the existing imbalance in their accounts. Even if they need to go to those lengths

We too are near to a stadium naming contract. Albeit with Etihad.

Not sure about the rest but I think Man Utd are slightly different for a few reasons;

1) The loss reported was due mainly to interest on the PIK notes which have now been paid off. (Ie its a one off cost, unlikely to occur again)

2) Utd in theory at least, have nearly twice as much cash in the bank as the parent company have in debt - so if need be Utd could pay it off tomorrow.

3) Its been widely reported that Utd are making nearly £100m/ year in various sponsorships etc

I dont like the idea of a spanish keeper for Man Utd.

Heard rumours of Berbatov to Bayern for 15million... Wow if we could get out of that situation and still end up with 15 million in the bank it would be like Veron all over again!!!

Then re invest in a mobile forward who tries, Tevez looks ideal, oh, thats unlikely. How about Lavezzi or Pastore or something?

United need an out and out goal machine again, a super striker like a Torres or a Drogba so they can get back to 4-4-2.

Treble it and you could get Pastore or Lavezzi :p

I hope Mancini is watching this game because Jarvis although he might not impress tonight is a player i really want at City, Would be fantastic backup to Johnson and even Silva.
Would also be available for around 7-8m i would imagine if Wolves get relegated.

If I questioned whether Chelsea were a big European side, I assume you're taking the **** when you mention City?

As for the others, Utd are fine, Barca and Real will be fine providing they don't go on another massive spending spree and I have no idea about Juve.

Chelsea and City can meet the regulations but that's providing they massively cut back their spending (both on transfer fees and wages) and make significant improvements on their commercial deals. In other words, replace Drogba, Lampard etc with cheaper players on less money and sign commercial deals to rival Liverpool, Utd's etc.
