What ever happened to all the hype surrounding Akinfeev a few years back, I recall a few years ago both Chelsea and Utd were linked with him multiple times and now barely a whisper about him.

As a slightly older alternative to De Gea, what about Lloris?

I really rate Akinfeev, don't really know why he's not talked about, is it because he doesn't wanna leave Russia or somethang?

Lloris has been absolute gash every game I've seen him play, pretty happy there's no talk about him tbh

De Gea like someone said above is a decent enough keeper now who will only get better imo, a steady goalkeeper for the next 10 + years is sweet.

I agree on Reina, too many silly mistakes. Theres no point in bringing a spanish tim howard in. But then thats why i dont want De Gea either, i can see him being just as prone. I think its a trait of spanish keepers, they all succumb to dumb errors in the end...

Plus those players are free because we already have them, how much would Ribery cost? 20m? 30m? 40m? Bayern seemed pretty keen to demand top dollar when he was linked with everyone before.

Good because if any one of your numerous predictions, nay saying and doom talking is anything to go by, you will be wide of the mark as usual.

I think Fergie is switched on enough to realise that we cannot dominate on any front with the Midfield we currently have. No doubt the usual suspects will be saying we could have bought X Y Z last year but as pointed out on many occasions its not just a case of offering £30m for a player and then he signs. I think you will see a good Goalie come in and a decent midfielder to complement the team.

People seem to forget that the papers are there to sell papers first and foremost. If they can get a hint of the truth in their stories then all the better. 90% of what gets reported is over exaggerated and mis-interpreted the other 10% is BS.

I will believe we have signed a player when I see him in the red n white of Utd and not before.
