There seems to be conflicting opinions on Dos Santos. How many games has he started for Spurs? Wikipedia says only 10 starts with the rest of the appearances coming from the bench.

Nobody wants him to be a success at Spurs more than me. I've had the sods name on the back of my shirt since he arrived only to be repaid by him rarely playing or being loaned out elsewhere. :p

But the issue of his attitude has come up many times. I think it was Harry who said, "If he could pass a nightclub the way he can pass a ball he'd be a hell of a player".

Thats generally the way I keep hearing it, there was a reason Barca jumped at something around 6-7mil for him even though he scored a hattrick in the final game of the season before his move.

Galatasaray supposedly had a option to buy after and they weren't interested, and frankly if Kewell can score a buttload in that league he should have got a few aswell.

I can't tell but, half the time I've seen him play he's a massive ball hog and is rather Walcott like in his indecision and ultimately choosing the wrong final ball. Selfish and attitude problems, look at Ronaldinho, lets be honest, way way better than Santos, and he got ditched for the same problems, and Barca only improved. A team player without attitude/training issues and not being a party animal is better for a team.

Reports in Italy claim Manchester United are to make a big-money approach for Napoli's highly-rated forward Edinson Cavani. It is understood the Red Devils had the Uruguayan watched on several occasions last season.

Interesting never really seen much of the guy expect he's good in FM :p

Still no Midfielder though

But this is good news :)

Sky Sports News understands Manchester United are closing on the capture of Atletico Madrid goalkeeper David de Gea, with the youngster free to talk after helping Spain's U21 side to European Championship glory on Saturday.

Cavani

What on earth would we do with him? Seems we're linked with every position other than midfielder :(

But hey we have 6 strikers at the club, let's add another.

new formation

5-2-3
-------------------De Gea-----------------

Rafael - Vidic - Ferdinand - Jones - Evra

Nani --------------------------------Young

-----Rooney---Hernandez----Cavani--

Unless they're seriously considering playing Rooney in CM... please don't consider Rooney at CM... please...

I wouldn't worry about that. There are far greater footballing minds at work here than us, they know what they are doing... I hope.

I'd like Cavani, though I'm not sure where he would play with Rooney, Berbatov and Hernandez, one must be going.

I try not to think about Owen, as he's not of much use really. Lets be honest. :p

Actually with the 7/10 thing I kind of expect Downing to be 7's most of the time with the occasional 5/6 and the occasional 8/9.

Young I'd expect could blow much more hot and cold, he just needs to be more consistent. I've seen him be amazing for Villa and I've not noticed him on the pitch, Downing is always doing something very work horse, Like Milner but with talent.

Young is like Milner, but faster.

Oh, and one-footed, not as accurate a passer, a worse crosser and can't hit the ball like Milner.

Stephen Darby and Jonjo Shelvey are part of the Charlie Adam deal apparently.

Eh? What those 2 AND 8 million? If so, thats utterly insane. In fact getting rid of Shelvey would be a bit annoying in itself. Darby I could kind of understand as he is now 22, been at the club since the youth and only played 1 game and spent most of the years out on loan so he is clearly never going to break into the team... but Shelvey? He's been here less than a year, is only 19 and showed potential in his dozen or so games last year.

@Gilleh: Can't say I agree with that, I think Young is a very good player and I just don't rate Milner at all, especially after he's moved to City, he's like a defensive midfielder trying (badly) to play on the wing.

I can understand sending Shelvey out on loan but not Darby. He's never going to be good enough to play for us so selling him would've made more sense.

Having said that, Shelvey's good enough to be playing for a mid to low table Premiership team at the moment so that could work against him and us.

Thing that worries me about when we send players out on loan is that generally when we stick a player out on season loan we sell them not long after. For us, the season long loan is akin to the vote of confidence from the board, both seem to result in the person being given the heave-ho.

(in regards to Shelvey that is, not Darby who at 22 is clearly not good enough to break into the squad)

Agree completely that Darby isn't good enough but if he has a half decent season with Blackpool, we could get more money for him selling him in a years time.

Agree again that Shelvey's good enough to play for a Premiership side but I can't think of many that play football in a way that will help Shelvey develope.

I'd imagine both loan deals. I think Kenny likes Jonjo and wouldn't look to move him on. With regards to Stephen, he showed signs of promise a few years back but I think he's beginning to realise he's got an awful lot of talent ahead of him and I think he could make this a permanent move.
