Hargreaves could be a fantastic bit of business if he gets fit and can get some games under his belt.
He offered to play for free at United too.

He is a free, isnt on long contract, isn't on proper wages and used to be a top player imo. Was great for England and utd when he played firstly. Why do people think Hargreaves could prove a decent buy? He was never that good anyway (or as bad as he was made out 2 game prior to joining Utd) and has barely kicked a ball in 2 years. Do people really think you can go without playing competitive football for that long and just pick up from where you left off?

In what way do you see him replacing Lampard? As your main attacking/goalscoring midfielder?
Meireles isn't naturally an attacking midfielder and won't replace Lampard's goals. He's a continuity player; he always makes himself available for a pass and when he gets it, he plays simple but clever passes. Not dissimilar to Modric in that respect.
His unwillingness to tackle isn't as much of an issue in a 3 man central midfield with Mikel sitting but seeing as I don't see him replacing Lampard, that leaves you with a choice between Ramires and Meireles. A 3 man midfield of Lampard, Meireles and Mikel? Lacks legs imo.
Anyway, I hope he does as well for you as Torres and Benayoun have
all the man utd fans said he was worth £16 million even though he only played for 1 season he was instrumental for them in the league and champions league in that 1 season and they would have paid £16 million just for that 1 season.
now he's gone to man city, he's apparently never been any good.
funny how opinions change. sure he wont be as good as he was straight away, but he simply wont have forgotten how to play football, hell i haven't swam in 10 years, but i reckon i could still do as well as i used to with a bit of practice.
he was worth a punt tbh.
Belgian winger?
....
We'll never get a player like Lampard ever again TBH; he was a one in a million - I can't think of any midfielder in the world who scored as many goals from midfield as him.
Unfortunately though, he is getting old and he just can't run around the pitch as much as he would like and therefore he major asset (arriving late in the box and scoring goals), is not really happening for him right now.
You're right in thinking Meireles won't be another Lampard, but he can still fill Lampard's spot and bring something else to the team.
He will be earning basic wage of course, he will offer CL experience more than anything considering a few havent played in it before. He is a replacement for Vieira really, will be able to help a few of the youngsters. Especially what he has been through is relevant to Michael Johnson etcI respectfully disagree with anybody saying he was a very good player. Decent but nothing more imo.
He's going to be earning some sort of basic wage and I can't see what he'll offer City.
I believe quite a few on "redcafe" have...a lot of City fans were mentioning it on "Bluemoon"[Cas];19968754 said:I haven't noticed any Man Utd fans saying anything bad about him?
