City have made a huge rod for thier own back with the wages they are paying. No one world class will come in for less, no one half decent will come in on reasonable wages knowing the gravy train the club is, they are stuck in a situation where they will get short term success but they cannot afford to keep offering the sort of money they will need too especially if financial fair play is enforced properly which will be more and more likely over the coming seasons.
I don't begrudge them thier success as most top clubs buy success to a greater or lesser extent but they are an extreme case and I can see them struggling to adjust once they have to try and enforce a little reality around the place.
