City have made a huge rod for thier own back with the wages they are paying. No one world class will come in for less, no one half decent will come in on reasonable wages knowing the gravy train the club is, they are stuck in a situation where they will get short term success but they cannot afford to keep offering the sort of money they will need too especially if financial fair play is enforced properly which will be more and more likely over the coming seasons.

I don't begrudge them thier success as most top clubs buy success to a greater or lesser extent but they are an extreme case and I can see them struggling to adjust once they have to try and enforce a little reality around the place.

Thanks Hughes.

With the money we have saved already and another clear out will happen in Jan i am sure the board will sanction a move for De Rossi or someone. Especially if De Jong did leave.

Then you also have Hargreaves who could yet become good again.

We didnt have De Jong for Bolton or Wigan and we didn't miss him. Yaya is now sitting back and Barry has been fantastic so far. Will be interesting to see if Mancini brings him back in.

They might allocate the funds, but I'd doubt De Rossi would leave - but if he does, no doubt £200k+ a week, easy!

Do you read this back to yourself befor hitting the "submit reply" button?

Do you really thank that little of your own players?
Yes i did.

I love De Jong as a player but if Mancini brought in De Rossi for example then De Jong would be best off being sold because he would barely play and whats the point him sitting on the bench.

Think that little?
It is wrong to say that if another player is bought then De Jong should be sold?

Do you read your posts before hitting "reply" as there is a spelling mistake in yours ;)

Well he has already stalled his contract talks with Roma. Well if he said that Mancini would say no as he has done with other players.

I missed an "e" out.

I'll leave you to do the jokes.

My point is that most fans connect with the players on some level. Even last night i wanted Eagles to have a good game. Its how we roll(!)

You will dismiss millions of pounds worth of players at a drop of a hat. You feel no affiliation with your first XI. De Jong? **** him, bring in De Rossi. Its just another name wearing the shirt.

Ok then.

Well i am about to watch Espanyol in the hope Weiss plays. I also go to Rochdale games when i can because i like watching the City/ex city players that are there because i went to quite a few reserve matches when they were here and i like to see how they have progressed so don't use that as "insult" to me.

Dismiss? when did i say that? I said that if De Rossi is brought in then De Jong should be sold. I really dont see whats wrong with that?

Why let De Jong stagnate on the bench because Mancini now has the player he wants?
He should be sold to carry on his career.

When i posted first time i clearly didnt word it right. Damn HTC.

Well De Jong/Kia want a huge contract and Mancini/Board arent prepared to hand out big contracts now for someone so replaceable.

I love De Jong but he isn't bigger than the team and if Mancini brings in De Rossi then sell him.

Sometimes Biz I really am embarrassed for you.. Any report however baseless about one of our players leaving and you jump straight in with "Sell him he's not irreplaceable". I know the thought of Kia Joorabchian makes most City fans (at least those of us who know what he's been up to) a little sick in the stomach, but you really must give a little more benefit of the doubt to our players.

De Jong is a superb player. Just because we've had a good run without him doesn't mean he's no longer needed. Not to mention he's one of the fans favourite players. I personally would hate to see him leave, he's one of the few I would like to see see out their career at City.

De Jong is a great player. You should embrace him in the way we did with Roy Keane.

You dont.

You would have sold Roy Keane and bought David Batty.

And if there wasn't clubs like City willing to play the greedy beggars this maount wages would be a lot more sensible.

I really cannot wait until the sky falls in on the football and they have to be (reasonably) economic. I will heartily laugh at all the greedy players the day it does.

/rantoff :p

Embarrassed?

Benefit of the doubt? It is hard to give it when every player he "represents" has tried to damage the club in the past. Look at what he did last week with the Onouha thing and Tevez last season.

I never said he wasn't. Never said he wasn't.
I love him and have him on the back of my AWAY shirt!!
I even bought the same boots for 7 a side for God's sake!

I would like him to see out his career but if the reports are true then Mancini would not hesitate to sell him to bring in his favourite player in De Rossi.
Simple as that.

I don't know about you but for me Mancini over De Jong.

Yes benefit of the doubt. It involves considering the line of thought that perhaps De Jong isn't being compensated in line with his peers, which would be unfair. I'm not saying that is the case, simply that the first option for a player represented by Kia having a contractual dispute isn't necessarily to boot him out the door.

If you really do think so highly of him, perhaps letting that come across in your posts about replacing him with De Rossi wouldn't be such a bad idea, that's all :)

I have already said that i love De Jong in one of my first posts regarding this. As usual it has been sweeped away and apparently i want to kick everyone out that plays for City and bring a bigger player in that is on 500k pw and has mass global appeal.

I am the same person who sticks up for Lescott, Zaba, Barry, Milner and other players who are not massive names so the nonsense about me practically not liking any players apart from the superstars is ridiculous.

No chance that Barca will sell Busquets nor will he want to leave. IF Csec can get into the team then it'll be in place of Villa with Iniesta pushed to wide left

That said so far Barca have been using their much improved squad so they may not even have a first XI anymore what with Csec, Sanchez and Thaigo all joining the first team squad this season

Well, plenty of people have gone to City, some for football and winning stuff, some for money. What makes it impossible that Busquets would leave for money?

If City offered him 200k a week, he went to Barca and said he wanted it matched and they told him where to shove it, who knows. If anyones seen just about anything in the past 3 years its, LOTS of footballers are happy to leave a club for more money, and why not.

Busquets has been all but pushed into defence, with to some degree Thiago and Xavi sharing the defensive duties in central mid, but Puyol isn't far from being back at all from a long term injury, and you've got Pique to come back still.

As for Villa being dropped rather than Iniesta, its possible but then Villa scored 34 in his past two seasons, 49 the season before that, Iniesta scored 12 last year, of which 9 were for Barca, and thats by far his most prolific year. Will they really drop the second top scorer and push someone who has never ever been even close to prolific into his spot, really?

Rumoured that Sunderland have gotten £6m loan fee for Gyan!

transfer fee upfront - as Bruce doesnt expect him back - perhaps? (which is reasonable for that kind of player)

Just hope Sunderland can survive until Jan (from a goals point of view)
