Speaking of loan moves, Mark Beevers has gone on loan to MK Don's (boo) until December 31st.

Not sure if it's just a loan with a view to a permanent move or just to get him games, he's a good young player, he's plateaued over the past ~20 months but he's already made 145 appearances or so for us.

Just seems to not be in Megson's starting eleven this year :(

That's a weird one 'cos we bid a decent amount for him earlier in the summer and it got rejected. Well, I say decent, it was about £250K or so.

dont see why Utd couldnt sell £10m + in shirt sales for DB shirt - admittedly it would be better if it was No 7 again , but even so its easily doable

any wages required would probably be made back by shirt sales, but how long would he last / match.....15 minutes maybe less?

Given the way he played for us in Gary Neville's testimonial and against us in pre-season for the MLS All Stars (where he along with Anderson were the two best players on the pitch) I don't think he'd have any problem whatsoever playing 90 minutes in say 1 in 3 games

I'd love to see him back at United, true club legend :)

You really think he is only fit enough to play for 15 mins a game?

Im not sure he would cope with anywhere near a half in a full tempo game no

Possibly a euro game depending on what the CL is like by Jan, I honestly dont think he would be as fit as Giggs (a reasonable comparision from their ages imo, and DB is still primarily a wide player where the counter attack pace MIGHT be affected)

Not disputing any of that - but that game wasnt the tempo of an EPL encounter imo

It would be good to see him back.....but it could also end up being a disaster, and would tinge that undoubted legend status with a failed comeback.

I don't think (short of signing for City) anything could sour his status at the club tbh as for the tempo of the PL again if you pick and choose what games to play him in (against the likes of Wigan at OT) I don't think he'd have any problems. Obviously you wouldn't rely on him for a game at the Emirates for example........ although the way they're playing these days :p

No it's not.

Clubs don't own the rights to their shirts, they sell them to manufacturers. Puma own the rights to Spurs' shirts; they manufacture them and sell them to the retailers, including Spurs's official stores.

The only money Spurs will make from Beckham's shirt sales is their mark-up on shirts sold through official club stores.

On the basis that Spurs will make £20 profit per shirt and Beckham will be earning ~£100k per week, Spurs would have to sell an extra (selling 100 Beckham shirts counts for nothing if they would have sold them anyway with different players names on) 5000 shirts per week or 260,000 shirts per year, all from their official club stores.

To put that into perspective; I read somewhere that through all channels (Adidas stores, Chelsea stores, JJB etc) Adidas sell approximately 800,000 Chelsea shirts per year.

Beckham won't sell anything like an extra 260,000 shirts per year and only a tiny percentage of what he does sell will be sold by Spurs' official stores and benefit them.

Looks like Arsenal training day for the fans to watch, introducing players one by one at the start of the season. Eboue's always the guy to watch on those days, he's ruddy hilarious most of the time.

Yeah was always great paying someone 60k to mess and joke around. Maybe if he took his job more seriously then he would have started more.
