Summer Transfer Window 2021/2022

Poch must be pinching himself every second

Gone from managing Son and Kane to

Mbappe/Neymar/Messi

absolutely unthinkable

Son and Kane are absolute quality regardless of his current squad. Honestly the biggest issue managing somewhere like PSG is that the owners are playing with monopoly money and don't give a **** about squad building. If they could buy Ronaldo, Haaland, De Bruyne they would play them all. Its hard to make a cohesive unit that works and doesn't **** off the massive planet sized egos there will be in that team.

The biggest issue is the amount of egos and the insane player power. Neymar can do whatever he wants, just take time off if he fancies. They also have players that have to put zero effort on the pitch defensively if they don't want to. It's a nightmare job for a manager but at least the pay is good.

OK, I have just seen PSGs potential first team and its insane.

Mbappe

Neymar Messi Di Maria

Verratti Wijnaldum

Kurzawa Ramos Marquinos Hakimi

Donarumma

If they get all their players flying they could absolutely kill the French league and win the CL at a canter.

They mostly win the French league any way last year being a rare occurrence they didnt. Its a team full of stars but doesn't mean they will function as a team, Neymar is a selfish cheating git, same with Ramos.

Cheating is rewarded in the modern game. Having players who are good at it is a massive boon for any team. Look at City. Fernandinho gets away with murder almost every single game I have watched. Ramos is a king of riling up the opposition and generally being a ****. Neymar gets players booked for the smallest of infringements because he acts like hes been shot after every tackle.

Love it or hate it, having players like that helps the team. Especially in Europe but increasingly in the English game as well. Harry Kane is also very good at "winning" fouls.

Poor old Aguero waited 32 years to get together with his best mate and now it's ruined!
You do wonder how much of a factor in his decision it was some of the squad he was supposed to be playing with. If any were important to him I hope he had some conditional releases and break clauses etc that he can use.

Reports coming out of France seem to be indicating that Shaqiri to Lyon is getting closer with a fee of around €8m. You'd have hoped for a bit more than that for him but given the state of the market, his wages and fitness issues it's not a terrible deal. In Elliott we've already got somebody that will fill his spot in the squad and do the things he does (+ more) as well as being a potentially huge player for us in the future.
