One of the Saudi clubs is after Todibo. Not a cheap deal to even without their involvement.

Not sure if this is the right thread but the latest tifo pod is brilliant for the financial state of the clubs with signings. Goes into depth as to why Arsenal are able to spend and can continue to spend. Why the glazers are dreadful owners. Spurs debt, Chelsea brilliant accountancy and Barcas pathetic accountancy.

I am 30mins into it on my walk to work this morning, it's very interesting and eye-opening.

Mason Greenwood.

I'm not sure they want that **** storm. I saw the twitter post today of him training at United and his finishing being mocked but that was just a snippet and I'm not sure he would have regressed to my standard in 18 months. I think his best option is a loan deal with United paying half his wages to see how he goes. I'm actually surprised Everton haven't come calling. Firstly they usually take United's excess old baggage and secondly the owners can't get much lower, they may as well take a punt.

Matt Turner has completed his medical at Forest.

Surely this means Arsenal are getting very close to the Raya deal. No way can we rely on Runarsson or Okonkwo as backup, they’re both useless.

I previously thought that Utd wouldn't want to PR mess than his return would bring but over the last few months they've been drip feeding local Utd journo's little updates and stories about his troubled upbringing. It feels to me like they've been testing the water to see what the reaction would be and now just slowly preparing everybody for news of his return. I hope I'm wrong but I suspect Utd will decide that a few weeks of bad press is worth it.

I do wonder about the Greenwood situation.

The audio recording was terrible, but the surrounding events (he's back with the alleged victim and they've had a child together now) and lack of criminal proceedings do leave the door open for him to play again.

I get the impression ETH is prepared to give him a chance, and wants to, but the club are trying to prepare for the PR storm. I don't think the Glazers would have a problem with it, they don't care.

Trying to think of similar situations - there was virtually no media noise around Marcos Alonso, who actually killed someone with his reckless actions and effectively got away with it.

The obvious and logical solution is to let him play in another country on loan for a season, then if all is well, bring him back into the squad.

If Greenwood is even close to the player he was then they would take a lot of bad press over writing off that large an asset. He was probably worth close to £100m with all the silly fees being thrown about these days.

I think the bigger concern would be the team harmony. Then you are weighing up real money.

I can see him playing for United this season, maybe not from the start but easily from January. As you say they're back together and even have a child together. If the prosecution didn't think they had enough evidence to charge with him then there's no legal reason why he shouldn't play. It's a tricky situation which can very easily backfire if he does it again but at the same time it's not been proved so he should be treated as innocent. I'd imagine there will be some safety measures put it place, be it couple counselling, behaviour courses or what not.

He was charged with attempted rape, assault and controlling behaviour.

people saying oh they are still together means absolutely nothing, in most cases of domestic abuse and worse the partner stays with the alledged abuser thats the whole problem with domestic abuse

hes a dirty **** and hope he never plays in prem again

Nearly 70% of rape survivors dropped out of the justice system in the fourth quarter of last year, according to official government data.

Amid court delays, low police conviction rates and fears over the trauma of reliving the crime in court, 69.2% of those subjected to a serious sexual assault withdrew from investigations.

He'd fit in well in Saudi (assuming what happened was true)

I think everyone knows he's a bit of a wrongun, but there's no point in trying to apply any moral reasoning to it. It's all about money now, and if we can sell off entire institutions in this country to people who do this sort of thing on a daily basis, there's no reason to believe that an individual player will be treated any differently.
