Summer weather thread 2024

its just nothing like summer and yes i moan when its too hot ,usually in nice weather my neighbour sits out and passes me the odd ice cool Steller over the hedge, haven't seen him for ages, the other neighbour has the log burner on

Looking forward to next weeks weather because this at the moment is a bit of a joke. 50mph winds in August. Games gone
one of my sunflowers fell 6 stories the other day lol

it splattered in the carpark thankfully no one was around when it landed.

I had 3 pots on my balcony wall sitting towards the inside so any wind would blow them inwards, but the wind must have rotated one of the pots and walked it over the outside edge...

I feel for you.... My potted apple tree (patio size) got blown over onto my lawn and 15 apples were strewn about the grass :(

They are not meant to be ready to pick for about another 6-7 weeks so are a little on the sharp side eating wise. I might need to see if someone wants to make an apple pie or something from them.

I am left with 12 on the tree so hoping them will remain and ripen properly... On the positive, no branches were broken and it wil let the smaller apples grow a bit better due to less competition.
