Ah you can't beat a nice sharp apple, ones that make you wince.
Ugh Christmas is one of my least favourite times of year. Thinking of going abroad for it this year.

Wild day yesterday proper storm and today its back to late summer sunshine again. Very strange weather.
Can you not just leave them to ripen in a shed or something? So long as they aren't bruised/split that isI feel for you.... My potted apple tree (patio size) got blown over onto my lawn and 15 apples were strewn about the grass
They are not meant to be ready to pick for about another 6-7 weeks so are a little on the sharp side eating wise. I might need to see if someone wants to make an apple pie or something from them.
I am left with 12 on the tree so hoping them will remain and ripen properly... On the positive, no branches were broken and it wil let the smaller apples grow a bit better due to less competition.

I'm not sure... Some sources on the web say that apples do not ripen further once off the tree Although they will get softer, the taste wont sweeten at all. None of them are bruised or split so I will keep them for a bit and I guess I will find out if the "non-ripening" sources are correct
I just had the bottom left one tonight which is larger(baseball sized). It was ok. A little sharp but easily edible.

It's actually pretty good here, bit of a brisk wind but out of that it's ok edit, actually it's more than ok

Goodness me its warm 25c or thereabouts too bad I've got covid or something and can barely shuffle around the flat never mind get out in the sunshine

It does feel weirdly muggy outside.
Here it's only showing about 60% humidity but feels worse than that.

I'd say Northern Ireland will be in for a similar record. Today has been pretty grim with some torrential rain after lunchtime.

I checked with a torch and it's still there.
I did some research and it seems the males leave the hive in search of a female and never return.
