Superdry - how warm are their coats??

Superdry coats are rubbish, I had one and they're no good at keeping out the cold, maybe on a breezy cool summer evening but not in winter. Also the zip broke and it got a hole in the lining too. I do like the style though.

I have a trespass coat that is far better an cheaper or you could try north face or berghaus for more expense/fashion but actually decent coats. Mammut make some lovely ones but you're going up a price range again there.

Had my superdry coat for a year or so now and its been fine. Yeah its not the warmest coat around but for your typical winters here in the UK with a wooly hat and gloves its fine. My Berghaus is better for wet weather though as obviously their not waterproof/windproof. Lol as some you lot thinking we live in the Arctic somewhere. Quality is okay too, no real signs of wear from poor manufacturing etc.

They aren't warm, waterproof or windproof. Maybe it doesn't rain or snow in Staffordshire but anywhere North of Hadrian's Wall it does get a bit chilly and wet between December and March, so they are useless up here. Notwithstanding the fact you look like some kind of style devoid clone when you wear one :)

Coats are warm enough but I would class the warmest I've tried as an average winter coat. Not the best at being windproof or waterproof.

Like Shadow Boxer I have a Berghaus which is wind/rain-proof although I bought a thinner jacket which can be used with a jumper if it gets too cold. Owned mine for a year now and it's been the best coat I've owned, plus I got it in the Blacks sale last year which was a bonus.

Superdry sizing is a mystery to me. I'm a medium/large for most brands but Superdry I'm XXL so definitely try out some jackets for size.

That what I said. In wet and windy weather I wouldn't wear it but stick to my Berghaus one. For your average Dry Winter day a Superdry is fine IMO for your everyday tasks.

Superdry are REALLY small in my experience. Its like me putting a girls jacket on, I literally cant move in any of their medium-large jackets. Its gotta be like XXL or something to fit me.

I find they are one size too small at best. They are designed to be snug.

What size are you normally?

I've got a fleece lined windbreaker (after leaving my non-lined, 4 year old one on a train :( ) and its damn warm - wore it out at ~5C over the weekend with just a tshirt and was a bit warm...

The old one I wore (with some pretty serious layers) while climbing up Scarfell pike at about -6C (at the peak) and it was fine, the waterproofing on them isn't amazing but you can fix that with a spray easily :)

I don't get this non-waterproof idea. I've had my one for about 4 years now and spent the last two winters in Scotland with it and can't complain, including the traversing of giant hills. Heck, I even got drenched last weekend in Lonon but I was perfectly dry underneath. Sure the coat absorbs some of the water, but none of it got through the lining and fleece.

Definitely try one for size though, as people say they are widely known for being a size too small.

Had a regular windcheater for coming up a year now and have to say it's been very good. Certainly warm enough especially as it normally gets worn when I'm walking about so generating body heat (in these situations possibly a bit too warm!) and as others have said their sizing does come up a bit smaller than usual but they are made to be a snug fit.

Only downside is a personal opinion thing in that I'd rather not have a hood/have a removable hood. Oh, and being sat in the pub with 4 friends and all laughing as we realize we have the exact same coats on lol.

so long as you don't expect the coat to be warm, waterproof or windproof its as fine a way of spending money as any other coat. If you want something that will keep you warm and dry get yourself down to a decathlon store, no need to spend the earth on northface or whatever other hyped up brand. A half decent ski coat can be had for £50 and will keep you warmer and drier than you will ever need in the uk

Op, superdry jackets are fine.

It depends what type you get. I have a couple of jackets from them, I dont really like clothing with branding all over them but I like Superdry sizes in the coats as they have fairly longer arm lengths I find which is good for me.

A windcheater will keep you dry in most cases I've only ever warn mine in light rain and tend to only wear it in when its not super cold.

I have another jacket from Superdry that has a warm layer inside which keeps me warm in the colder month's if there is such a thing in the UK, seems our winters are getting warmer and wetter!

Most of there jackets will keep you warm, I normally wear a thin jumper under coats as well.
