Tabletop Warhammer?

Drones are on tonights list. I started drilling out the snapped flight stands and reattaching antenna and guns last night. The smell of poly cement was strong lol.

I could take a picture of them on the bookshelf but they are surrounded by half finished Brettonians and a Treeman.

Plenty of rumours around from giant suits and new Vespid. Main rumours are that a new Codex is on the way with a release around May and it is being written by Robin Cruddace who has a history of killing Codex's.

Some rumours around new flyers in Feb/March for Tau but I doubt it.

The Tau need a big update. Whilst they are quite a good army in 6th to use, they only really have 1 playstyle that works. Few of their units are worth taking so it turns into lots of spam of the same thing over and over.

I am a massive fan of Forgeworld Tau models (as can be seen) and I fully expect to keep buying them but I hold out hope that some of the new stuff will be on par and worth a purchase!

Yeah I know what you mean I've looked into them a fair bit as my second army but that's only because I found a set of fire warriors nd stealth suits so I must have started to collect them but I can't remember doing so lol

Ill concentrate on my chaos army for now as I've still got a few bits to paint lol

Tau are a very different playstyle to anything else. It is about avoiding combat and keeping moving. It is basically a requirement to move your tanks every turn and generally the faster the better.

Tau are the masters of fighting on the move and keeping assets alive. Hammerheads are an AV13 Skimmer with a railgun. When moving and equipped with a disruption pod this ups their Jink save to 4+. Get them into 25% cover and suddenly its a 3+!

Railguns with Markerlight support are also just damn evil. Capped to BS5 but removing cover with ML's can be fun. 32 ML's on a vehicle in cover and suddenly its taking Str10 AP1 hits that can hit on a 2+, Penetrate on a 5 at worst and get +2 on the dmg table. The extra markers can be used to remove 1 point of cover each too so goodbye vehicle!

Also fun for insta-death sniping characters too. More fun with squads of Broadsides though using precision fire if you get luck rolling a 6 to hit with the upgraded Shas'vre. POP!

CSM's can do it all but with Tau you will find you just don't have options you want to use. That said if you decide against them then let me know about your FW and Stealth suits. Could always do with more!

So, uh. It would appear Maelstrom Games is gone, and they were the place I used to buy my stuff from... Which of the others are recommended? I've ordered from Dark Sphere before, but I don't recall using any of the other stores.

While Total Wargamer seem to have a bad rep I only had a minor issue with them over the christmas period (Which I will attribute to Christmas).. I asked for my delivery location to change which they missed and sent it to my original delivery, I left a smarmy message on there facebook page about them not reading messages, next thing I know they have sent one to my new location ASWELL and asked me to return the other when I was back at work.

I called them and paid for the second one and kept both :)

Would order from them again, especially considering there prices

Try Triple Helix Games or Firestorm Games. They are the sponsors of one of the Warhammer forums I use and have always given good service with good prices.

The other option is Wayland who have one of the better reputations. Total Wargamer were a bit slow for me and seem to have little in stock and tend to back order everything. Good discounts however!

Goth eldar? Good army, better than Good Eldar with current rules. Their model range is pretty impressive too, a lot of very good models compared to other armies.

Jink is 3+ from over 12" away moving at combat speed is it not? 2+ flat out?

Also 32 ML's? What are you running to get all those? Loads of Tetra's?

As others have mentioned, I tend to go to Wayland, Total Warhamer, Firestorm, Triple Helix and I've recently heard that Element Games are worth trying too.

Other than that there's Gifts for Geeks (decent customer service and prices), and Buy For Less Online have a limited stock at decent prices from memory.

Very true. Just rereading the book. 5+ default and +2 for shrouded from the disruption pod. Another +1 for going flat out too making 2+ save flat out.

3+ for moving but if you can get into cover you can get back to a 2+ and still fire. :)

no need to be >12" away though from what i can see.

And the 32 was a typo. should have been 3/2 but yes I do run Tetra's :) Only 2 so far but will be buying more.

Disruption pods give shrouded when moving which is what makes it effect units shooting at it from over 12" away I think?

Yeah Tetra's are beasts I need to acquire some myself.
