I am pleased with the overall service though, beats mythreal last year where I ended up just cancelling my order because I got sick of waiting! My and Drumunsta will be having a small 800pt game tomorrow night.

I will be playing my CSM and he will be playing his Nids I think!

Having this nailed arm is really annoying me since I cant even get my stuff all finished up in time for the next additions. Havent been able to get in for a game either was planning to go next thursday but I have another xray to go back for where they decide if they need to re break my arm and put a plate in since its not sitting right. Might try and get into the store this weekend to at least see whats going on with everyone

I don't know if anyone's mentioned this yet, but apparently RM have announced they won't allow shipping of more than 4 pots of water based paints (up to 150ml per pot) any more.

Well that's a bit rubbish if it's the case. I guess we'll be seeing more use of the cheaper couriers then. I can't see RM's reason for that restriction, it's not as if the country is plagued by paint covered postman as pots shatter in their hands despite good packaging!

It's been mentioned over on BM:

http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/...limits-on-acrylic-paints-your-hobby-need-you/

and there is an online petition:

https://www.change.org/en-GB/petiti...e-restrictions-on-shipping-water-based-paints

What's really annoying is that RM are refusing to say why they have brought in these restrictions on non toxic and safe paints and they are just destroying the whole parcel which in some cases are are worth hundreds of pounds for paints worth a few pounds.

Not to mention the fact RM are happy for you to ship a 1L bottle of Vodka/Whiskey through the system which I would thought could do more damage then a few paints

I use an 80W daylight but in the main light fitting above my head. I position myself so I don't cast shadows on the my work. I find most desk lamps dry paint out unless LED as there is a lot of heat there close to the work.

I tend to use a 22 watt round florescent daylight lamp (about £25 from Maplins when iut's on offer).

I need to replace the lights in my computer room soon anyway, so I'm currently trying to find somewhere locally that sells Osram Lumilux tubes*, as if I can I'm going to put in a pair of 4 foot double tubes (I can buy them online, but last time I ordered 6 foot tubes from Screwfix I ended up with 3 deliveries of about 6 tubes each, of which 3 were usable).

As ghostlypea says wet palettes might work for you, I know my brother likes them but I've never got on with them (I think how useful they are depends on your painting style/habit).

*B&Q used to sell a GE version, but they've stopped doing them (I bought two for the garage and only one store out of my 3 local ones had any, and that was going back 2-3 years).

I used to just use natural daylight and not paint in the evenings. Doesn't help when it's dark mind, but if you mean drying paint on your palette you could try a wet palette:

wet palettes are great, been using one for a few months now and its much easier to paint when your paints dont dry up every 10 minutes :p. Even better if you make your wet palette in a shallow tuppware tub with a sealable lid as it will keep your paints for a few days.

If anyone does find a decent lamp for painting please post a link, I am currently using a standard lamp (with lamp shade) it provides an OK amount of light but its not ideal.
