Tabletop Warhammer?

This guy seems to be giving good loadouts for Deathgaurd. Might just follow it

Eeeeeenteresting. I notice he says he is also making assumptions on what weapons comes under what category for melee.

Right, this thing along the spike and snaking around is a mould line right?

Also, whoever designed this three piece should plate/arm is a massive ******:

Picture's a bit blurry but looks like it yeah. It's easy to see what's a mould line - it's present on every piece and if you hold the sprue horizontally with the bits still on it, it obviously goes right through the middle of every piece on the same plane as the sprue, so it's always a continuous, straight line around every part. There will be bits of most pieces where it's almost or completely invisible but it's still 'there'. Some of the newer kits do a really good job of hiding them with the way the pieces are oriented.

That shoulder pad is a good example of why tamiya extra thin is good, pain in the bum with cement out of a needle applicator but easy with the extra thin by brush.

Yeah I think it's better to take picture at normal/no zoom and allow people to zoom the picture in. I see what you mean now about how the line continues on the sprue. My brushy glue should be here soon but actually been able to control the Citadel well now.

First time I've got really frustrated. Have a part that I am struggling to glue on, the surface is weird and it has a little notch but doesn't match the shoulder joint one. It is on though but I have no idea what 12c is telling me to do, considering there is no yellow (glue) it's like it's saying it clips in somehow.

So think this may roughly be the paint scheme, using a dark metallic for the main armor peices and then gold highlights and green for weapons or similar.

I have no idea how to attach cloaks to pauldrons. I don't see any obvious grooves or whatever to glue them too.

Might just leave them off, this is the second where the instructions are not any help.

I did it in the end but the instructions were no help.

It shows a small dot on the left of C124 but that dot was actually on the right.

In order to make my champion fit with the 10E, I stole a plasma gun meant for a different layout and added it. I filed off the hand that was on there, it will look ok when painted I think.

Got some painting done over the past two days. Just to base the poxwalkers and got the airbrush going for the storm speeder.

Went full contrast on the last 15 of the poxwalkers. It’s a skill in its self to learn how to use the paint. The range is no where near equal.

Wydwood and snakebite leather are awsome. Getting inconsistent results with black Templar. Gryphound orange is great also.

Made a few mistakes with the airbrush which I tried to fix with a cotton bud. First real vehicle I’ve tried.
Hopefully get everything finished tomorrow so I can put up some photos.

Just did my first ever prime with the death guard green spray. I know it's not technically a primer but it seems it's an acceptable way to do these and then I will use the death guard green base paint I have to go over it as the colours differ slightly. I have got into the habit of drilling barrels from the start. I think it looks weird if you don't.

The pictures won't collaborate with what I'm saying but I am pleased with how the coat has come out as I have retained all of the details and it seems to have covered really well.

For those who take close-ups off their minis do you zoom in or do you just take the picture without the zoom and then zoom in before you upload?

In regards to Necron paint schemes, I kept mine simple with gun metal (leadbelcher > wash with Black Templar) and Rakarth Flesh washed with Agrax, edges with Pallid Wytch.

Also, unless it’s a huge model, I always paint models fully assembled. This helps you realise what you need to paint rather than wasting time, and I find speeds up the process massively. Besides you’ll only end up getting glue on parts you’ve already painted!

Ordered another box of plague marines so I can make a full squad of 10, in hindsight, if I knew more about the rules beforehand I'd not have bothered with the combat patrol box. Got a few other bits for the other armies I'll create too.

Toned down the gold a little.

Also digging a white and gold scheme?

Decided against the gold theme, found some similar ones done online and they all look a bit naff, so likely going for the bronze/black instead, still playing though.

There is an app I paid for as I get money from little google surveys called impcat that allows you to test various colours on things. Excuse the colours, I just pressed randomise :D

dr seuss high resolution images

I have this colour scheme as a guide on a Patreon I subbed to, I like it:

Also, I was looking and it seems knights are a really popular faction to play, but to me it just doesn't seem like 40k having like 3 massive units on the table. Tau as well, look like they belong in a Gundam game.
