Any tips on the best way to get a verdi gris effect on bronze ?
I use a 70/30 mix of Hawk Tourquoise/Dark angels green, but heavily watered down.

Thought I might get into painting again after about 15 years and finally got round to getting my hands on some figures to paint. Ended up paying £20 (not inc p&p) for 1 ork warboss, 10 shooter boyz, 6 nobz and 18 boyz. not bad if I say so myself
Anyway, after asking on here and heeding other people's advice, I shall be using Vallejo paints. Now, where is the best place to get them from? (preferably online). Wayland games seemed ok but didn't have all the ones I wanted, in stock plus they were short on the washes/inks etc. I'm trying to order everything from the same place (less hassle). If anyone can help, i'd very much appreciate it.
Decided that I'm going to be painting some models from each 40k army for a display collection. I don't see me playing the game but painting is something I enjoy.
I already have marines and orcs from the Blackreach boxset plus a bunch of marines from when I used to play, will add a couple of extra units to the orcs. I have a leman russ and a squad of Imperial guard plus a Baneblade which I will finish. Just need to think on some Eldar, Tyranid and Necron units.
These will be going into a tall glass cabinet with a few other collectible bits I have when we buy a house next year![]()
Sounds awesome that mate. Reminds me of the display cabinets in GW shops. I was getting to be a very good painter when i gave it in....shame really. Anyway taking it back up so all good!
Am off to the Stockport Gaming Centre this afternoon![]()
maelstrom games used to be a good place to get vallejo paints and GW stuff, but pretty much everyone I've talked to who has ordered from them recently has complaints about delays.
Used to collect and paint these as a kid, and after reading this thread I have the itch to have another go at it.
Where's a good place to start? Any like starter kits or anything like that?
