Tabletop Warhammer?

I use online shops for buying stuff now,
Dark sphere usually offers about a 20-25% discount off the official GW price, i got the battleforce for 39 quid off them instead of 51 ish.

To the ones who actually do play whereabouts do you actually play?

How do they look? Better than the previous incarnation?

Gah. I can't believe I'm asking questions with the possibility of buying things. :o :(

well from what I've seen they look very good considering the range is now nearly all plastic, as good as the old metals anyway, I only ended up with the codex and a dreadknight as they'd sold out of everything else.

the dread knight is a nice model but it's pose is really static and there's not a lot of ways to change this without judicious use of a hobby knife, which duly made an appearance! definitely going to be buying a box of terminators and a couple of power armoured boxes, that's be it though, they really are too expensive now.

can't give my opinion on the codex though, not read it yet (mostly a painter not a gamer) but I've heard that it's utter filth.

couple of pubs down my way with spare function rooms that get used by the locals, I also have a few friends with big houses :o and i have *just* enough space in my room for a 4x6, off up to nottingham in june to meet up with some people and play some battlefleet gothic as well. I've not gamed at my local GW since i left in 2008.

I generally only get to play properly a couple of times a year :(
But when I do it's usually for pretty much 3-4 days only stopping for food and sleep :p

I keep meaning to get round to going to one of the local specialist stores that holds gaming nights, but rarely have the time/energy to do it.

just spent far too much on not very many grey knights.....

Have quite a decent Ultramarine army too (needs painting however).

Play mainly rounds mates houses with the occasional trip to Warhammer World up in Nottingham.

That sounds like it would be even cheaper than Maelstrom, who I normally use. Are they reliable? :)

Gonna be poor by the end of the month. :o

I would rather avoid my local GW as they tend to be overly enthusiastic about EVERYTHING.

And it smells bad, dark sphere looks quite good. £10 off the 40k rulebook, bringing it down to stratosphere levels instead of deep space levels. :p

Delivery is a bit slow but i do not particularly mind, usually takes about a week or so to arrive.
yeah i compared them with maelstrom and i think they were a bcouple of quid cheaper on most things but then again the delivery is probably a bit more and takes longer, ive used them 3 times now and they've been fine.

All the other times i just use Fleabay, picked up a monolith just now for under £20, and i will be getting one for my birthday, Doomsday Phalanx here i come :P

Used to collect space marines but didn't really play, just like painting them even though I was never good at it. Looking to sell them but I have no idea where as my local games workshop don't buy second hand. Anyone know of a decent play to sell them?

Orks! Waaaaaaaagh!

Around 1k of shooty Deathskullz and 2-3k of Evil Sunz :)

Countless amounts of Chaos (Khorn and Undivided) before the new terrible codex :|

Not played in a couple years, completely gone off the company.
Prices have gone through the roof and design ideas have been terrible (3 Marine codex's in the time Necrons have had 1?) :(

Haha, so true, that's the best possible way to describe it.

It must be universal, I went into a GW in France and they were the same!

I tried to keep things marginally on topic, But i suppose on these forums its night impossible :P

If you continue with this you will NEVER LOSE YOUR VIRGINITY!

I used to play 40k but thinking about it now it was around 15 years ago when I last played!

Me and my friends all collected them we made a massive board to play it on. I collected chaos, what there was of them at the time, I modified normal space marine models to make my own noise and plague marines.

I've still got some of them in my loft i'll have to dig them out one day and take some pictures.

ahhhhhhhhhhh i had a box of chaos space marines i never finished putting together yeaaaaars ago. I used to love sitting and painting them, very relaxing, i might start collecting them again purely as ornaments (if i remember rightly it's possible to get metal ones?)

Some great pictures here! I used to collect Warhammer when I was younger.. about 13 or so years ago now!

Used to love painting and gaming with them, although my painting skills weren't that good back then..

I collected Blood Angels for 40k. I also collected Delaque for Necromunda and Skaven for Mordheim. Necromunda and Mordheim were my favourite games! :)
