Tabletop Warhammer?

Battlescribe is pretty good, you still need to reference the codex for special rules and weapon rules but it's a good way to quickly switch things around. Most of the modules seemed to be 6th edition rules, I'm not sure how much of a difference that would make.

I am going to have a game with my brother on saturday night cant wait (actual models) I think we will be doing a 750pt game as we dont want to be doing it all night.

I will be going Chaos Space Marines and he will be going Tyrinids, not sure how I am going to build my army but I have 30 cultists and a sqaud of marines and a Nurgle Daemon prince or Chaos Lord for my mandatory setup.

If you can get some obliterators, their ability to chose which weapons they want to fire will let you switch between hoard-y weapons (frag missiles, Heavy bolters etc) and the big guns to take on the monstrous creatures.

With regards to the heavy bolters I am new to using them, how does this work? its going to be a slow game as we are still getting to grips with the rules.

Well heavy bolters can fire 3 shots, AP (4? I think) So they can take down multiple models with no armour save if their save is 4+ or worse. Frag Missiles could work but there is a chance of scatter and the enemy will likely get an armour save , longer range though.

Well, so far I'm not too impressed with Wayland games. Placed and order on Monday and it is still sat at processing (I.E they haven't packaged the items and shipped). I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt as it does say 1-5 days for items that are in stock (of which everything in my order is in stock) however IMO 5 days to package and ship stuff that is in stock is quite a long time.

What is more frustrating is I could have gone to triple helix after work tomorrow and picked up everything I wanted.

Sigh.

I am going to use TH from now on, great service from them when I ordered Dark Vengeance, obviously I will get the occasional thing from my local GW (support the store a tiny bit).

5 Days is a bit silly, unless they are waiting on stock to arrive? but they should have told you that.

I use Firestorm Games and they've been pretty good so far.

Edit: Looking at Triple Helix that looks a lot better though! I'll try them next.

TWG were slow in shipping my item but it was Christmas as they even missed my mail saying I wanted the delivery location changing but when they read it they sent a second one out to my new address and asked me to return the original when I went back to work.

For that alone I would order from there again.....

On a side note... I NEED ME SOME HELLDRAKES.....Oh christ they are insane.

What do people think of the Possesed Chaos space marines? i dont know how to play them just yet? are they worth having them in your team?

Well you get 5 models for 130 points with Str 5 instead of 4 compared to Terminators which are 95 points for 3 models.

But only have a 3+ save compared to terminators of 2+

The possessed have a Fear special rule at the start of each fight sub-phase a unit in base contact must take a leadership test before any blows are struck. So if a model fails all the models in that unit then fight with WS1 which is pretty good considering the Possessed are really a close combat unit.

So points wise you get more models so more attacks than with terminators but you have a high save so guess comes down to preference.

But of course Terminators can deep strike where as the Possessed cant.

Wow thanks, you have just explained it for me so well they are going in my 750pt game instead of the chosen lol I am going againt Tyrinids unless they are fearless but i dont know much about them. This is all in prep for tomorrows game with my brother haha

According to the codex yes you can. The possessed can "The unit may take a Chaos Rhino as dedicated transport"

Terminators get a land raider as a transport.
