Tabletop Warhammer?

Thanks for the replies. I did go down the rabbit hole of reading everything I could and you end up with people slating the portable hobby units as insufficient but it gets too much into laquers and enamel with I will never use.

Extraction is a must due to my son's respiratory health. The best bet will be a folding table near a window in our bedroom with one of those booths.
Also forgot to mention that the blue filter in the rear of the spray booth is easily and cheaply replaced.

This is the stuff that I use.

Arm ache now plus one worn out Citadel drybrush, just got to drybrush the two smaller buildings from the Kill Team Hive Storm box.

I will be picking out various details on the terrain using contrast paint which goes on really well as all the terrain with be pre-shaded.

Black Vallejo primer, Dawnstone drybrush, Gray Seer drybrush, Corax White highlight drybrush, Blood Angels Red details, Wyldwood details & Akhelian Green details all contrast paint.

I will then be adding a few 40k propaganda posters to the walls that I will print out myself.

The two 10 man armies will be next.

Loving that terrain its unbelievable how much detail GW have crammed onto it.

Cheers All

Thanks, that is really helpful. I may have to delay any plans for a booth as our cooker went pop yesterday. I don't think any appliances last much more than five years these days :(.

In the mean time I need to finish the Heroquest Abominations and cracked on with the rest of the set. Promised my neighbour we would have a games night with his son when it is done.

I did pick up the 1st issue of Combat Patrol a few weeks ago just for some cheap GW minis to try out. Looked yesterday and they had issue 6 already.

No problem at all glad to help.

Just finished the largest piece of the Hive Storm terrain ;)

Yep, I got a slight hit to Dark Angels, albeit the Lion got cheaper. Still happy with Dark Angels compared to Codex compliant chapter for sure.
Unforgiven ftw

The one I don't get is desolation squads. They're already trash. They increased the points. Reduced how many you could have in a squad. Now they've removed half of their unit ability. Why? Literally nobody used them because they were so bad and over costed!

Always the same isn't it, sometimes you get nerfed, other times buffed, translated to complain/cheer :) Not played in a few weeks, I wanted to get my Vashtor etc ready but I've had zero motivation really for painting etc. Vashtor is coming along ok. I don't really have enough daemon engines though to make use of that stratagem and I'm not buying more stuff until I finish what I have, too much partially done stuff even if there's no pile of boxed shame.

I don't play competitively enough to care tbh.

Or in my case, I didn't get them because they look so bloody awful lol

I've seen conversions with the launchers as underslung, similar to terminator assault cannon, and it looked so much better. The design out the box is just poor lol

They, along with Centurions, need a redesign.

As someone who was just starting thousand sons, I just got punched in the nuts :(
Don't feel too bad, Thousand Sons and Adepta Sororitas were right at the top of tournament charts, a little rebalancing was inevitable, as results should be somewhere around 50/50 if things are balanced.

My wife collects Thousand Sons, Tzeentch Chaos Daemons and Adepta Sororitas so she got hit by the points changes, but realistically, if an army is drastically stronger than others at similar pointage, something needs to change.

I converted mine because they do indeed look that gopping

Yeah, I've seen a few people all come to the same conclusion and rework them to something like this:

Looks a lot better; these are meant to be Space Marines, not Orks lol

These new blood angels kits go so hard!

I want to paint up The sanguinor regardless of what chapter I choose to go for but I'm very torn between angels of the blood variety or the dark variety

I won't tell you to follow your inner voice telling you to follow the Lord of the First...I'll just suggest it ;)

Lore-wise, they are also the Chapter that unabashedly is still effectively a legion at this point in time in all but name, and have the coolest/most secretive toys in thier hidden arsenals. No other legion/chapter can match them in this.
The Blood Angels by contrast are a bunch of PTSD-ridden Angry Marines, that try to pretend they are not ;)

***********

You called the Space Wolves/Leman Russ when you want an executioner and a warning.
You called the Dark Angels/The Lion, when you no longer need a warning or an execution, but simply an extermination.

Oh you don't need to sell me on the awesomeness of the Dark Angels. I've about 4k of them painted for heresy.

Realistically this is a question of, what am I painting first
