It just seems odd that hardmode effectively stops new people from joining the server. Seems weird from a game design viewpoint.
Effectively the first person or couple people to gear up and enter hardmode will then have the server to themselves, as nobody else will be able to start afterwards...
It's like an MMO that removes all low level creatures after the first couple players reach the endgame, so no-one new can start... Can't get my head around it!
