Terraria - Dig, fight, explore, build

Unless it is a bug, you can get the nurse with 1 life crystal. The other NPC's are the Dryad, the Arms Dealer, and the Clothier. The Dryad spawns after you kill a boss, the Arms dealer spawns once you have a gun in your possession, and the Clothier spawns once you kill Skeletron. :)

You must fight Skeletron to be able to safely enter the dungeon. Talk to the old man at night time to fight him. :)

Logging server now if anyone needs a hand.

FrenchTart: Will the server auto-ban me if I use dynamite? I've had occasion to use it (meteors) but didn't want to get banned. :D

Normally it would but you probably have a brief period where you can get away with it whilst I update the config. I'll be doing this update in the next few minutes so my advice is to not use it - don't take the chance :)
 
I've noticed something strange with some of the blocks too, I keep using my pick axe on them and they look like they are breaking but nothing happens. I cant dig through them. I also found a jar I could repeatedly smash forever but would get nothing out of it. I take it these are bugs?

Are they near the spawn point? If so, probably spawn protection.

Yeah it could be, I didn't go back to the surface till I'd used 2 though.

Knew I was supposed to kill Skeletron (which I doubt I can do) but I was expecting a block rather than an instakill skeletal head :p

Just ventured all the way left. 2 lots of desert and woodland, the dungeon and the sea. Then on the way back from killing Sharks I ran into a King Slime... had to quickly dig a hole and throw lots of enchanted boomerangs out to kill it, got a Ninja Hood from it for what little use it actually is ><

Looks like I'm gonna have to head through the corruption to find the jungle...
 
You should be able to take on Skeletron with decent armor and a Flintlock Pistol (bought from Arms Dealer).

A warning to all players: the server has attained artificial intelligence, and will try to talk to you. Either embrace our new cyber overlords, or ignore them. :D
 
Okay, after a day of playing i have a few questions - firstly, what do you do when you've got 10 fallen stars (i actually have 11), what actually happens when you die and is there a way to get from one point on the map to another faster than walking? There's an interesting cave i want to explore but it's like a five minute walk from spawn, not fun. Thanks :)

fallen stars = convert 10 of them into a mana crystal and get +20 mana permanently

death = drop half of the cash you're carrying. Good way to 'teleport' as long as you put your cash in chests regularly

teleporting = see above or get a magic mirror. You can also teleport to your spawn point with your magic mirror and then break the wall to be able to teleport back to the middle of the map. that's about it.

Yup, thanks. Can't actually do anything with mana yet but you know :p

Oh, and i think i'm still in minecraft mode. I couldn't be bothered to walk all that way so i'm in the process of digging a huge underground tunnel to get there. Now where are my minecarts... ;)

omfg no wonder im so poor all the time =/ and no wonder i kept finding piles of cash after night time... jesus...

What do you mean about breaking the wall?
