Terraria - Dig, fight, explore, build

I don't know if it's just me, but as someone that has sunk a lot of time into the game, I feel that each update adds very little to extend playtime.
They do make the game much better for someone starting new, but even an update like 1.06 isn't going to last me more than 30 mins.

That is probably because there have not been any major content updates. The new ocean and desert biome's were both small changes. Hopefully the next patch after 1.0.6 will be the one with a whole new biome and a new boss.

What do you mean about breaking the wall?

If you break the wall of a house, it's no longer a house, so you can't teleport there.

So, make a temp house for whilst you're in hell / jungle, then remove one brick and teleport back to main spawn :)

Cool :) I've only ever encountered Mother Slimes.

You guys should keep an eye out for a wizard called Tim. He will try to kill you but he drops a sweet hat.

It was a gigantic slime with 2000hp that ambushed me as I came back from the ocean. Hurt like hell when it hit me (32ish with 16 defence). was rather pointless once I was hidden, I occasionally got hit by the blue slimes it releases as you damage it but they only do 1 damage, the boss itself couldn't touch me.

Is it worth using Dynamite to blast my way through to the Shadow Orbs in the Corruption? Given that I have no way of getting Purification Powder yet.

Well that was fun, wandering the jungle trying to find Jungle Roses (found 1... lol) when I suddenly get the message that an evil presence is watching me. Quickly teleport back to spawn and run to an open area, spend all night fighting, get the Eye of Cthulhu down to 500hp and day breaks so it leaves ><

If I'd of known it could spawn without me summoning it I would've prepared the area with a large arena of well lit wooden platforms and got a pistol from the arms dealer. Vilethorn and Enchanted Boomerang just weren't enough and I burned through half my damn lesser healing potions.

Mostly sticking to single player at the moment, managed to get myself some bits but mostly just copper although did get some gold weapons and tools. Made myself a depth meter also being curious how far down I was. To my surprise I'm 550 ft above ground level, and the lowest I've dug is only 100 below ground level. Kinda curious how far it goes down on a medium world :)

Also, them giant worms that just pop out the floor... FFFUUUUU they annoy me highly.

Came across this purple colored ore which I can't mine with a gold pickaxe, my guy just stands there chipping away but never breaks it so not sure what that stuff is yet. Also is there any faster way to carry water around instead of a bucket?
