Terraria - Dig, fight, explore, build

That was my first ever blue mushroom farm, if you have a melee weapon with long range, such as the Blade of Grass or the Murasama, you can get all of the mushrooms very easily. I used a similar layout for my normal mushroom farm, except after every row of dirt, I put a row of bricks underneath. This stops vines from growing and stopping the growth of mushrooms on the next layer down.

I'd visit that farm every now and again, usually it'd be chock-a-block with mushrooms. Usually around 550 or so. My normal mushroom farm was slightly smaller, and would only produce 5-10 mushrooms per visit, because of weeds hindering the growth of the mushrooms.

Mud blocks are affected by gravity now so that wont work anymore. You need to put stone or dirt under each row of mud tiles.

Any chance of being aloud on the server? Been playing on single player but not really sure what im ment to be doing, seems pretty similar to minecraft but i really like the visual style :)

It is still possible to make it like I did in that picture, mud blocks have a random chance of falling when they, or a nearby tile, are destroyed. I put a row of stone underneath each row in my normal mushroom farm anyway, so the design is pretty much the same. :)

I cant even get two mud blocks placed next to each other without them fallng several times. It took ages just to make the two tile pikes at the edge of each level on my farm.

Damn. Are you still on there? :p

Nah I went back on my own world. I only found the 1 though. I do have some more in storage if you want some later on but I need some for my own garden when I decide to make it on the new patch.

Either make an infinite water and an infinite lava tank (search google/Terraria forums), or dig all the way down to hell, in a very slim tunnel, 2 blocks wide. Any water that you come across on the way down, funnel it down one side of your tunnel. When you finally reach a large pool of lava, funnel that down the opposite side of your tunnel. Then force the water and lava to meet, they will produce obsidian and for the most part, you can keep mining the same block and obsidian will continually be produced until one body of liquid is gone. I'll find a vid in a minute.

E: Didn't take long to find a vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuMV6teFzko

Hope that helps. :)

Seems a bit too much effort :p

I realised that dropping water onto the lava from a height was where I was going wrong. Considerably better to seperate them by a layer of stone, then break the stone off which instantly creates an Obsidian, then break the Obsidian till you run out of lava or water. Gathered about 200 blocks from a few pools of Lava before I figured I had enough for now and continued on to Hell. My ladder to hell turns out to have a very large patch of Ash filled with Hellstone so I should have plenty to make some new tools.

The Guide is an annoying. He must've got killed when 1 of the voodoo dolls dropped into lava, so he has now moved into MY house.

Mod edit - Swearing and obscenities removed,

Really want them to get this out on the Mac, wouldn't mind sitting on the laptop and playing this outside today... :D
I've seen the workarounds and I'll maybe give it a go but I live in hope of an official Mac release so I can just chop and change machines.

After getting really lucky and finding a stash 19, and a stash of 20 meteorite bars in the underworld last night, before getting killed... I made a phaseblade so that I'd maybe stand a chance against some enemies.
Just lucked out again today in my first time in the Jungle.

3 gold chests and just out of shot a life crystal. :) (Also screenshotted that because I was so happy...)

Staff of regrowth
Feral Claws
Numerous potions and some silver bars

Not a bad scoop I thought. :)

Edit: What do people do for lighting the way whilst mining/exploring? I need better armour for the head but the mining torch is invaluable!
