*** The 2010 Gym Rats Thread ***

Yeah was only £6 for the meter and you can get quick release clips for a couple of £. Can also cut the old chain off while you're in B&Q too!

Nice squatting. Mines progressing, slowly though I am coming down in weight. I think I may have exhausted the effectiveness of 5x5 either that or low carbing/ I just don't in general have the endurance to crank 5 heavy reps out. So seeing how it goes next session, the following one I may addopt a 3 x 10 for back squats.

I really miss high volume leg work. I haven't had a reasonable leg pump in weeks! :(

I may go for a PB this weekend. I'll see how I feel.

Strongman....well we are trying to start its just weather dependent ATM. We wanted to get out last weekend but it chucked it down so didn't bother.

End of March / start of April will be fine, but we can try and get a session in before then as well if people are up for it :D

Sounds good to me! :D Still around Bedford ya?!

Could anyone could spec me a full body STRETCHING routine to be performed 3 times a week (after every gym session).

I spend all this time lifting weights, contracting the muscles but I don't spend anytime stretching all this cramped up contracted muscle.

I want to be more flexible so hopefully a stretching programme will help this too. My gym does a pilates class but I don't fancy trying that, I'd rather hit the mats and stretch there for 20 minutes.

Lol :D Hopefully not the sound of bones breaking.

hehe no last time the only person injured was me:

Cool. Shall give them a go in anticipation of physio.Shall also try the cables tomorrow: looks like a good idea along with the ice. Thankyou.

I was cringing in the gym a couple of days ago watching a guy bench 400lb raw without a spotter. He had one arm stronger than the other so when he was pressing his left arm would shoot up first leaving his right arm a .5 to 1 sec behind. He did three sets after a warm up but those last reps gave me a lump in my throat along with the instability.
