*** The 2010 Gym Rats Thread ***

*I was using a ball of chalk, just my hands were struggling at that kind of weight. I reckon if I did more practice at 1 rep maxes though I could have 180kgx1 by the end of the year, not sure if Im too interested though.

That it is, last for ages, too!

Ah ha I see, good lifting none the less!

I also love the fact that I automatically assume that everyone in the weights industry know what 'mp' stands for.

140x5 (felt a lot lighter than usual after pulling 170 :p)

That's that CNS trickery I bang on about when training legs :p

I like proper chalk I must say, but it's more psychological or "old school" mentality I guess. In terms of performance they're both much of a muchness!

I have a bag of climbing chalk which is basically just pure magnesium carbonate. It is powdered but has big clumbs in there which I've been using too. Best of both :)

With regards to bulking, im doing a good job as any fat gain hasn't been much, 3-4lbs at a guess thing is i do feel fat of course.

Im assuming that all being well and good, when i decide to cut in feb/march that's when i really get to see what all this effort im putting in has done?

Just finding it a bit frustrating gaining size but not seeing an awful lot, it's like christmas where you just can't wait to unwrap it all :D

Though I rarely dedicate a whole session to back, when I do I perform the following, ish;

Deads; 5x5/7x3
Wide grip pull ups; 3x8+required additional weight
Close grip pull down; 3x8/5x5/6x4
Bent-over barbell row/bent-over one arm dumbell row; 3x8

Thanks benny, that's awesome good result btw.

My upper might not be as hench i don't honestly know, legs however i excel at so that will be one to watch.

Just frustrating to gain in size, but not to really see any of it just the overall shape improving.

Some good progress.

Just a calorie defecit, HIIT, BB complexes and circuits. and about 4-6 weeks of going at it hard with about 2 weeks lowering myself into it.

92KG down to 81KG at my lightest, around 84KG in the leaner pics. 93.5KG now and got my bulk belly on :D

Was doing bent over dumbell rows today with 42.5kgs x 13 without too much difficulty... dumbells at my gym only go up to 45kg though!

My back workout at the moment (no pullups because of my shoulder)

Lat pulldowns
Barbell Bent over rows
Dumbell bent over rows
Shrugs

I do deadlifts on shoulder day.

is that each arm ? crickey

I'm up to 18kg single curls -but 42.5 eek

Rows, not curls!! Haha!

Nice got down to 82kg in prep for my first bulk, all keto which some folk can't handle but i loved it.

Had to stop as work made my back scream out for muscle because of my job, which was a shame as my abs made a showing, ho hum.

Anyway can't wait to cut, i have a good supply of rapidcuts harcore which is designed to hold on to muscle mass, should prove interesting.

Have been feeling weak of late so bumping the carbs up seeing as i've grown, all low gi to keep it lean as possible of course.

How you guys deal with clothing sizes, i can see why so many bb'ers wear stretchy gear.

I wouldnt bother with fat loss aids tbh.

As for clothing sizes, medium is tight, large tends to be a good fit round the chest, baggy round the midsection.

Trousers are size 34" waist with a belt (although not really needing the belt now :o) and legs are getting too big for some fits :( Once I start cutting down hopefully my legs will be able to fit into more stuff (dont want to buy new clothes :p)
