*** The 2010 Gym Rats Thread ***

Over the moon today!! Was deadlifting last night, and fancied trying a 1RM,

this is all in lb's i do apologise (the weights at my gym are all in lb);

135x12 warmup
225x12
275x10
295x8
315x5
335x3
360 (163.63kg)x1

Obviously not as much as a lot of you people on here, am so glad because this was all raw and held the 1RM up for 4 or so seconds, am aiming for 400lb before xmas waaaaaahoooooooooooooo! :D

Jealous of everybody training :(

Build some monstrous calves? Unilateral work should be heavy enough. Some bodyweight lunges? Pistol squats, bulgarian split squats. Could do some plymetric explosive squats/split squats if you're still motvated? Or just lean out like a mo fo.

I cannot do anything involving a weight...body weights squts could be do-able though

I doubt i can do press-ups etc due to the shoulder involvement....

Hell...As I said the other day, i cant even iron a damn shirt without it hurting!

well instead of moaning about it make sure you're doing ALL you can to get it fixed, be objective, moaning doesn't get anyone anywhere :D

Personally, whenever something is wrong/not right/broken/need fixing in any sense of the word whether it be a smashed glass at home or one of my projects exceeding budget at work, just take the logical steps to get the problem resolved, think producitve! :D

edit: wow it sounds like im having a go, but i'm trying to be motivational, epic fail

Howay Delvis man, get your mind back in it :) There ARE things you can do without your shoulder you'll just have to play about and discover them. I'm sure abs can be worked, BW squats, walking lunges....... :)

Had a week out due to moving house, starting back Monday and I know that even though I have only missed a week I will be as weak as a kitten! :(

I hate having time off the Gym!!!

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

:p that's fine, dont worry

It's not that i'm not doing anything, some days its fine, some days its not...ive had an X-Ray but everythings fine apparently...Im on a ten week waiting list for a physio because i cannot afford to go private (My mate knows of one he is using that is about £35 odd or so a damn session!)

For instance...i'm sat here typing, and i can feel it nawwing away at me! :p

True man...I just don't want to damage it any more...the instant i knew it was bad i stopped working out...its been over a month now :(

Might quite possibly be muscle related as opposed to tendons or ligaments. A bunch of fibres that has seized or knotted badly might well be pulling the joint out of whack.

If you could afford to I'd see a physio/get some DTM on it as there'd be no way in hell I'd be waiting 10 weeks if is as bad as you make out. I waited months for my MRI because I couldn't be arsed to travel back from Uni for it and my shoulder wasn't causing me any more pain or hassle.

However in this case it might well be best to get it looked at asap. For the sake of £35. I know this can be a lot of money to some people. However my eosteopath charges £50 per hour so in comparison to that it's not that bad.

I'd be getting frustrated now and would be doing something about it, (if you can afford to) imo :)

After all my chest woes over the year I tried Barbell bench press for the first time ever today :p I'm such an amateur...

Felt good, managed 80KG, still felt the delts coming into play quite a lot, though.

Whats a DTM? :(

I would mate...but it really is the money (Lifes all aobut money in the 'real' world now don't you know? :p)....I have literally £300 to last me the rest of the month....that's not including petrol, or food..OR the electricity bill...

Life sucks..But hey ho...may try ask my mate for a referral to them, as the guy is apparently good...Just gah, with Christmas and everything coming up

Yep, my form is nigh on perfect and better than most. The problem forces me to think and focus more on form than anything else.

In which case - I'm all out! Unless your shoulders are simply weaker in comparison to the rest of your upper body, which I guess will not be the case as most of you seem 'on the ball'.

Well I hope that you find the cause of it mate

Back day went like this today:

Deadlifts (no belt, straps etc, all double overhand grip):
70x6, 100x5, 120x3, 145x2, 155x1, 165x1, 170x1 (Bit dodgy grip failed a bit), 140x5 (felt a lot lighter than usual after pulling 170 :p)

powercleans:
40kgx5, 60x5, 67.5x5, 67.5x4, 65x5

Bent over rows:
65x10, 65x8, 65x7
