*** The 2013 Gym Rats Thread ***

It's a bloody god send. We have all said that should we win silly millions on the lottery we will make the ultimate strongman / strength training facility and basically live the life with nutritionists and specialised coaches lol.

You'd still eat as much as I do...

I'd eat a lot more than I do now, but then all the additional working out would take care of that. I'd aim to be about 145kg and be strong as **** lol.

Fair cop, guv! So would I if I was a bazillionaire...

Twice as much? Good work!

Agree, really - given unlimited funding, food and time, I'd have a good crack at the 105kg weight category...

Hi guys

I had my first full body work out after almost 12 months of inactivity. My 'DOMS' have lasted three days and are only now just beginning to subside. Is this natural for it to last this long for a weight lifting beginner?

Thanks for the quick replies guys :-). I completed the workout on Friday. Felt some pain on Saturday, but Sunday was the killer - I struggled to put my seatbelt on!! Feeling lots better today though so will be back down the gym soon!

I had leg doms from one workout to the next leg workout, that was amusing.

Delvis do you keep a record of your week to week progression in the various lifts? You got like a spreadsheet or something or is it logged somewhere? Cos i cant understand your numbers, even going up 1kg per week on the big compounds you should be doing a fair bit more by now.

I have a log book yes. And the forum log.

Last year was naff between February and July because of my back, so squats and deadlifts suffered. It's only been in recent months I've been able to train my shoulders properly due to existing issues there as well.

Are you wanting to know anything more specific?

For the squat part of my leg day, i do this

4 sets 15 x 75KG
3 sets 8 x 80KG
2 sets 5 x 90KG
1 sets 5 x 100KG

Question is, i train legs for road cycling, so im not after massive size, but good power and endurance. By doing these sets would you guys say im going at it right

Afterwards i do some weighted lunges, leg extensions and jumps on to a wall which varies in height.
