The guy can lift more with his lumbar spinal erectors than I can with all the muscles in my body. Amusing, really. :)

Still, Koklaev (Misha) appears to have cut down and joined the weightlifting team, too, and with formal competition so far away, why not have a laugh?

I don't know of any cheap gyms near me :( (Except for 15/20 mile trips) They are all £20 and upwards as far as I am aware! And from what I've seen most of them suck (No free weights sections) Just cardio cities!

Uses Matrix equipment which is what our pure gym has, not top of the line but it works.

Im from Wakey aswell and currently at TotalFitness. Although I tried Xercise4less on Sunday with the GFs brothers.

Its a nice place apparently just been all revampted with new kit. A lot better kit than at TF and a better price. Currently im paying £38.99 a month at FT. Although it does have pool, sauna etc. Which I don't use.

The ladies don't like my fat ;(
 
So Mehdi on stronglifts always go on about how 'all the big guys' you see in the gym are not natural and on steroids and how he is all natural etc.

How true is this crap?

Ages ago I signed up to the mailinglist. Recently read something he sent.

Not all the stuff he send out is crap to be honest.

Infact regarding what you speak of, I dont think thats what he said at all. It was something about don't train like those who use steroids as they are basically cheating. Half of the work is done for them, if you trained like they do you wouldnt grow etc etc etc...

There is someone in my gym, I have suspicions of. He trains very silly. Also lifts puny weights, and looks like a cloud...

No. Just no. Mehdi keeps banging on about the steroid users that only do DB's and machines but end up gaining muscle anyway. He keeps hammering home to the people just getting in to training to pay them no attention.

It's mainly to stop people looking and saying to themselves "These guys aren't doing what i'm doing but their gains are impressive, Strong lifts sucks"

Mehdi sometimes goes off on one and I take everything he puts out with a pinch of sodium but his main points he always harps on about are consistency, form and paying attention to what you are doing. Basically what everyone needs to get in to their head in the gym.

There are huge power lifters who are clean and there are Huge DB fairies who couldn't squat jack. This is his point.

Maybe, but you've just said what I said in a different way.

Sure he is first and foremost a business man, but the essence is you cant train like someone on steroids as a natural you just wont grow.
