Out of interest, Morba, how does cost break down? (Just curious really)

kd

I think the unit costs £150 a month plus electric. We then just put money together for whatever we want to buy.
Other recent purchase was a 175kg and 205kg atlas stones :D we're calling them Phil and Grant at the moment lol.
Electric is about £8 a month and now it's cold we're doing a £30 bottle of LPG each month.

Where is that?

Up north somewhere, by up north I mean north of Birmingham somewhere lol

Should maybe arrange a meet at sometime in the future if enough people are willing :D Love strongman training and would love to get some tips and it would be a good day training using some of that stuff! Atlas stones and car dead lift seem a bit heavy thou (Maybe I could manage a 2" below lockout :D)

Yeah I'm more than up for that, we can give loads of stuff a go :)

The place you posted

July 13th is the proposed date of the meet, if that would be ok?

I'll check what comps are on, I know we have a few around that time. Will let you know later :D

THe bonus of doing somewhere like that is they have a normal gym as well, so everyone will be able to do some thing and they will have lighter standard kit too :D

I'll find the location of it specifically :)

Holy conditioning...

Crazy vascularity, still some bodyfat to be lost though then he will look even more amazing!

Try being in my world. Being 5'9 and trying to do strongman is a nightmare. Some of the loading platforms are silly high :(

I was watching Ilya Ilin (guy has possibly the greatest technique I've seen and unbelievable speed) and suddenly noticed the plates looked quite big next to him... turns out he - and the rest of his weight class - are about 5'7-9. Step up to 5'11/6'0 and there be monsters...

Inb4 moaning/excuses. :D

God yeah, his technique is amazing. The speed to get under the bar is amazing and something that I'm lacking in completely!

Yep yep, strong back will give you a stronger bench :)

So get those barbell rows up with a decent weight :)

I done a 75 mile cycle yesterday, is it wise to train chest tonight? took bit of a battering yesterday holding on

Yes just think about what you can do and do your normal percentage lower for reps. Don't think of the weight as a number, think of it as a percentage of your max for the day.

So if you were planning 80% 1rm for 5 reps and 1rm would normally be 100kg, but as your a bit tired its more like 80kg today, do 80% of 80kg.

Every time you sit and stand, you squat.
Every time you bend over to pick something off the floor you deadlift.

Don't not do them for fear of hurting yourself, do them light while recovering and concentrate on form. Just don't use silly weights :)

Cool Tom, if day to day activities are still stressful then I can understand your approach :)
Basic movements can only help you in the long run :)
