Deception, how's the recovery coming along mate?

Only been a week and I'm bored already.. got another 4+ to go too. Can feel dem gainz wastin' away.

Need to start being strict on food again now, to make sure I dont gain back what I've lost in that time!

Hows things with the new routine and CBL?

CBL is going well, but I think I've overdone my deads starting back to aggressive after 2 weeks no deads then going for a rep pb during low carb prep phase, recovery of my lower back has been sucky. Ignored it and powered on for two weeks, last 3 days have not been fun. Also the heavy lifting didn't help my strain, ough it was gone, clearly not. All in I am going to start some light rehab lifting from tomorrow and dial everything back for cycle 2, and thrown in an extra weekly backload on deadlifts day to avoid the same again.

I'm getting crazy chest doms from 5x5 on bench even though it's on a light weight, I think it's the strict rests. That phone app is bloody great.

There's a phone app?! How did I miss it? Android?

Haven't actually had much chest doms, but not had much chance to scale up my bench to be fair. My OHP is almost the same :S That said, I'm getting some great trap and shoulder doms.

DL form was dire yesterday, can feel it in my lower back. That said, I think it's more DOMS in the muscles around there rather than outright pain. I knew it was going as I was DLing. Should really have just taken a bit of the weight off and stuck with better form.

Can't grip anything tightly this morning though without forearm pain - not quite active doms, but yeah, gripping wakes them up...

Edit: Bah, that's a no to Android. Will have to wait until I upgrade :(

Edit2: Just had a look at this on iPad, seems it killed the Ab/Arm stuff. Really has cut it back. Also quite interesting that it does 90 seconds rest. I've always done 60 seconds xD

I take as long a rest as I can with SL, I'm more concerned with making the lift than anything. Though as I train before work I'm restricted anyway to rarely more than 90-120s.

I wouldn't bother changing to an iOS phone just for the app, I've had a look on my iPad it's pretty limited and lettuce beef reality, the SL program/progression is about as basic as it gets!

Ian McCarthy is a massive nob. Great to see him getting absolutely owned in this video. Worth the watch. Think U_E will like this

Are we doing the same routine? Because my one only ever focusses on three lifts per session - the app mimics the spreadsheet and the book, so I'm not sure where you are getting the bonus arm/ab stuff from.

Also, are you sure that's not injury regarding grip?

I wasn't going to, I was going to swap to iOS anyway :p It would just be a perk, but yeah the app does seem limited. Anyway, yeah, at the current weight, 60s seems manageable.

Yeah. Just I'm doing it pre-2010:

I probably am putting a bit too much emphasis on assistant exercises, but at the moment, I have buckets of time in the gym, so don't have time restrictions. Also, being limited by no squat rack, I'm not getting the compound benefit from it anywhere near as much, so am adding in the assistance exercises to help with that. I'm also not at a point where I feel my chins/dips/pull ups/reverse crunch/plank/body saw is at all limiting my main lifts. They're still above and beyond the main focus of what I'm doing.

But yeah, I'm sure it's not an injury. Had some pump yesterday, so DOMS are to be expected...

I see, that makes sense. I've been doing some bonus exercises just to justify the CBL, as everyone is sick to death of hearing about, but have just been focussing on the core ones really. Have been extending the last two sets until 'one rep in the tank until failure'. Considering I did over 10 squats on my final set last time, I still have some way to go.

Feel I have totally overestimated my BOR though. Did 40kg yesterday and had to take a 3 minute rest for the last set, and even then only did 6 reps. Far too hard for the second BOR session!

No squat rack?!
