£120 better though? Also there will be a better specced ONE (can't remember the exact specs) for £300.twice as much memory, over twice as much storage, bluetooth, monstrous battery life, multi touch pad and it even has a bag(also has two internal mpci slots and a 1.8" zif connector). Sounds better to me?

the 901 has an SSD, the "better" one has a hard drive, it's still a no brainer (and the 80gb One is £299).I've seen the One on pre-order at £260 with an 80gb HD and 1gb memory. So cheaper still and 4x the storage.
I think so, with atleast 2x the battery life, 2x memory, 12gb more ssd storage, bluetooth and a far better touch pad it's well worth it.£120 better though? Also there will be a better specced ONE (can't remember the exact specs) for £300.
Think of it this way - for the same price as the EEE 701, the Acer give you a bigger high res screen, bigger more useable keyboard, atom, more storage... and without going up to real laptop prices. Also the EEE 901 still has the tiny keyboard.I think so, with atleast 2x the battery life, 2x memory, 12gb more ssd storage, bluetooth and a far better touch pad it's well worth it.

So... any official release date yet?
I notice it's up for pre-order at a couple of competitors, yet they're being naughty and charging the Acer RRP plus tax, when the RRP is supposed to include it.
I know, I know, supply and demand, it's desirable, people want it etc.
But a MASSIVE factor towards it's desirability is the sub-£200 price, so adding money on takes away that benefit.
The Acer Aspire One runs a little warm, and a small internal fan vents through the case bottom, thankfully very quietly.
apparently not.lower power draw
the ssd and ram are soldered.Any ideas with regards the state of the SSD, motherboard or PCI-E card?

Is the ram soldered on all models? if so thats a bit a draw back not being able to stick a cheap 2GB stick in.
