*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

Using the O2 calculation its saying itwould cost me £340 to upgrade, does this just mean I have bought myself out of the remaining contract....THEN I have to go pay for a brand new contract/ Phone?

Well you'd still need to buy the phone? Or have you factored that in to your £260?

I didn't notice the last part of this sentence; Sign up for a new 18 or 24 month minimum term Pay Monthly or 24 month Business airtime contract with O2 with an iPhone at the normal price for that phone and on our iPhone tariffs

So gonna assume it's 260 to end contract early then an additional 200 or so for the new phone, £400+ to upgrade...just not enough features to make it really worth it. If it was gonna cost me barely anything to upgrade I'd have done it but if it's this much + having to be stuck with O2 even longer I'll give it a miss. :p

Hmm basically no where near worth it, IM might as well recycle, take the £240, add the £200 on and just outright buy the 16GB handset, chop the Sim and put it in, am I being stupid or does that make more sense?

Ive asked before but never got an answer, will O2 send me a mSim if I ask for one then swap my number to it?

I didn't spot that at first either. When it's all taken into consideration if the prices are similar to current, I should hopefully be looking at about £150ish to trade up (up by about £60 from recycling my current phone, £200 or thereabouts for the handset with a new 18 month contract), and I will most likely be doing it I reckon. Once proper pricing's out I'll see whether I'll do that or buy a PAYG one. If it's not much more I will.

Are you one month into an 18 month contract? Ouch.

Got the phone last nov, 24 monthly contract, was thinking at the time " im not gonna need to update surly", saying that i don't need to, but, well......ya know.

for o2, gonna cost me £160 to finish my contract early and get a new one, I just wonder what the new contract terms/cost would be

guys any reports on how strong this iphone is? thinking of buying one on paygo as 10 pounds top up only lasts me over a month with unlimited text and net.

I use to a 2g and its took a battering and still going strong. just seen so many 3gs broke so easy

Does anyone know if the current O2 tariffs (seems after the reduced buyout you have to re-sign up so dont think you can keep your tariff if its legacy) provide exactly the same benefits (including T&Cs and FUP) as the original iPhone tariffs?

Just wondering mainly about data and if theres reduced terms which they might like to enforce down the line (like Vodafone is doing now on its FUP) whereas the original data plans literally seem unlimited.

ps3ud0

The new tariffs dont include MMS in your free texts - this chnaged when they updated the texts to unlimited in most of the tariffs. Data is the same.

The £20 thing is great for me as I thought I was going to have to pay £180 rather than £100 - but I dont know why they dont just offer a 12 month contract at a slight premium.

Anyone know how pre orders will work with the offer?

Who is that with ? As all the networks I've seen it is £15 to have free internet and text ?

Only other is with Three where with £10 you do get internet but they aren't doing iphone and dunno if they can be unlocked :(

Going to cost me £100 :)

So got a couple of really obvious questions, do I get to keep my old 3GS, will they be available from 24-Jun-10?

the feedback I got off a nice lady from 02 this morning as that there would be a communication shortly about what date we can order the new iphone from. But it will be a 1st come 1st serve basis, so keep your eyes peeled for any emails :)

Good question. I'd imagine it'd be like any other upgrade as you'll effectively be paying to bring it to its end where you'd normally upgrade.

And yes, they will be available on the 24th.

Can someone confirm that my thinking is right about this:

I'm a Gold customer with an upgrade date of the 24th August, therefore I don't have to pay £40 to end my contract?

On the 02 upgrade page:-

This reduced cost offer cannot be combined with any early upgrade eligibility you may have as part of O2 Priority List.
