*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

I love having my Gmail and Hotmail emails pushed to me straightaway, but I think I will have to change to manual as it really is eating my battery life, like you say...

Yeh, I didn't realise how bad it was!

It doesn't seem to eat much of my battery at all. I'm not certain that is your problem.

Battery drain really only occurs badly when you have several things syncing fairly frequently.

Unless its just poor coding on Apple's part, which I'm unsure about.

check to see if there's still multitasking apps running in the background

also finds like push will tend to keep the wireless connection on even when in sleep.

This. My battery life went from 16 hours to 3 days once I turned facebook push off...

I've had my iphone 4 for a week now, and i love it. Coming from an Android Nexus One.

Battery with this is massively better than the N1.

Overnight i loose about 1-3% and that is with Gmail push via exchange, wifi on etc etc.

(JB'ed 4.0.1 FWIW)

Went to Apple Westfield last night and got my day one iP4 swapped for a new one.

Old one had funny marks on the screen. Almost how it would look if you put a screen cover on but didn't get all the air bubbles out. There were about a hundred all over the screen but you could only see them once the screen had grease on it - it looked perfect when it was clean but the first bit of grease as soon as you touched the screen again and they'd be back. Very annoying! They were defo under the screen though as you couldn't smudge them or even scratch them off, and the home button was perfect so must have been something that happened when the screen was assembled.

Nice shiny new phone now :D

mine has a grid over it it seems now..... almost as if theres a few 100 small screens connected together to make the display. (Or just 100 pixels?? lol)

Once the 30th of September has come and gone and the Case Programme has been withdrawn, will Apple also change their the 30-day 'no quibble' refund policy on the iPhone itself?

Or will that continue for the forseeable future?

The refund policy also stops then too.

The case program is stopped being advertised fully but does live on. If you really need a case, contact Apple Care and they will send you one free of charge but it will be a bumper case.

Ermmm the refund policy on the iphone4 wont cease...they have always offered the 30 day no quibble refund on the iphones from day one.. If your talking about the refund policy on people who bought bumpers from day one of release then thats more or less stopped as im pretty sure those people have been refunded now and you havent been able to buy a bumper from Apple since they announced the free case programme....which was announced end of July.

The unconditional refund for 30 days on the iPhone 4 stops on the 30th September. It then reverts back the usual 10% restocking fee.

My biggest problem was yesterday listening to a comedy podcast in a supermarket. I got some strange looks when I kept laughing and the when one of the people on the podcast said something disgusting and outrageous, and very funny, I put my head into my hands laughing. People started avoiding me.

I may stick to music when out and about in future :D

Which podcast, if you don't mind?!

I've done this a few times with my podcasts of the old Mock the Week episodes, which I'll occasionally listen to on the train on the way into work. You do get some very odd looks!

I never understood people using auto-brightness. Surely the phone uses more power by utilising the ambient light sensor, than if you just stuck it on 50% constant?

Never had problems with my battery life and I use push email and notifications pretty frequently.
