*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

Seriously though, I have never bought any apple products, I am not an apple fan at all. I got an iphone 3G for free and had it for a few months and thought hmm I can see why ppl like this, really simple to use and some really addictive apps. When the pics of the 4 were leaked I thought if it actually looks like that I am buying one. I paid £600 for mine on PAYG and I don't regret it at all. I wouldn't swap it for any other phone, nor would I have paid even half that price for anything else that is currently available. Maybe other phones out there are better for certain tasks, but this does everything reasonably well I think, and it looks great and feels great. I feel sorry for people put off from buying just because of the so-called antenna issue, which for most people hasn't been an issue!

Just want a nice touchscreen for listening to my music, snapping a few pictures and getting some useful apps and games (maybe getting an emulator on there to play some ds games, possible?)

Well i dont know about an emulator for the iphone...dont think one exists but i may be mistaken. But if thats all you want it for then the iphone would suit you down to the ground....question is can you afford the stupidly priced tariffs or you could just buy one unlocked from apple...£500 for the 16gb version and £600 for the 32gb...which is what i did, bought the 32gb iphone4 from apple direct...took about a month to deliver but ive had it since Aug and i have to say im very impressed by it but then my main useage is games and mp3's along with the odd texting here and there...for me its my multimedia device as i have a blackberry that i use to make call, emails and texting etc.

Saying i had tmobile upgrade yesterday me to the 32gb iphone4, which i received today so am looking to sell it as i already have an iphone4 myself.

It's a great iPod, which you'd expect as Apple have had enough time to polish that side of their business, and it's also a great little games machine.

Oh and it sends text messages and makes phone calls.

I have no regrets defecting from Android ;)

I have had an iphone 4 since launch and have yet to encounter any antenna issues, infact, my reception is far better then it was on my 3GS.

Quoted for truth - far far better reception than my 3GS. this antennagate nonsense is a non-issue. blown way out of proportion and just 'blank' ammunition for apple haters.

It should not be an issue for buying the phone because there is none.

Something that would concern me more than the antenna issue if I was considering purchasing an iP4 is the lesser known Bluetooth issue. I wasn't even aware of it until a friend at work tried to BT me a photo last week. I know that wifi can be used to transfer things instead but BT is very handy for quickly sending photos between friends phones. I find it really annoying. :(

I'd say the best for you is the iPhone 4 then. You won't be able to legitimately run a DS emulator on it, unless you jailbreak it, and even then, I'm not sure if there is one of the iPhone yet.

The iPhone 4 has a brilliant camera, they seemed to really focus on getting a quality lens and sensor in there so is great for that. And of course, out of all the mobile platforms iOS has the most support by App developers, both in general purpose Apps and games.

Game center is turning into something rather good too. I've got a HTC Desire in house that I play with quite a bit, while it is the best alternative for the iPhone 4, I'd say if you can get the iPhone 4 over that, do it. It is a better phone.

I know but for the weather I now look outside and for the time I can now read numbers :p

I have this App, shown here on my iPad, on my iPhone.

This is going to sound silly!

But does anyone get a numbness in their fingers when holding their iPhone 4?

LOL no...maybe your gripping it too hard:p

Why doesn't the AppStore use push notifications/badges to tell you about updates, seems kinda odd.

Same sort of thing i was wondering...only way you know you have updates is when you actually go into the apps store unless theres a setting somewhere that lets you have notifications for updates.

100 million devices and 250,000 apps. That is a lot of CPU time crunching a massive database let alone the bandwidth.

Which comes down to money really.

Even periodically checking automatically, say once/twice a week, would be more useful than having to remember to do it (and not that intensive on resources).

edit: Does the TomTom car kit include the app?

Their feels like an electrical current is going through my fingers I do realize this sounds crazy but it is defiantly happening and did not happen on my 3GS our HTC Desire.

Maybe there is some wrong about the phone but saying that my 2 friends held my phone for a short time Yesterday and they did not feel it.

I shall check the display models in the Apple store when I am in town tomorrow if I still get the numbness feeling of them. If not I shall take it to apple. Saying that I do have a Speck case coming this week.
