********** The all new "Official" iPhone 4S thread - Keep all the iPhone 4S stuff in here **********

Got it and have played with it for about ten minutes - I'm slightly disappointed with Siri as it doesn't use Yell (Is it called Yell?) for nearest businesses :(

I've tried "Find me a restaurant", but it just says it can't do it :(

I got mine from the Three store, 4-5 hours or so ago. It was empty and they had a few left in stock, but not many.

I looked out the store down the road to the o2 store and it was packed and had a queue leading down the street.

Went with the £35 one plan and 16gb Black Iphone from the Wood Green North London store.

ok got my new 4S - best way to switchover?

So in possesion of my iPhone 4S now... Have switched over service to the new IMEI etc..

Am I better off,

a\ upgrading the old 4 to OS 5, then backing it up via iTunes, and then restoring it?

b\ don't bother upgrading the OS on the old 4, and just backup and restore onto the new 4S

c\ forget all the above & just re-download all the apps to the new phone and copy across all the music, photo's etc manually.

How do you guys do it?

Apple announce Siri will be improved internationally in 2012

I'm sorry but how hard is it for Apple to incorporate local google search into it for us? They've had a long time to sort themselves out.

That being said I do love it and I can't wait til 3rd party app developers get their teeth into it and get it doing crazy stuff no-one has even thought of yet.

I done it like this,

iPhone 4 had backed up to the iCloud.
iPhone 4s restored from the iCloud. This bought all of my settings with it and pictures and took about 10 minutes before i could use the phone, then it spent the rest of the time downloading the apps just need to sync my music over now.

My guess on the quickest and easiest method would be:

1) Backup 4 on itunes
2) Restore 4s through itunes - the backup file should be able to carry over from iOS 4 to iOS 5!

Edit: wouldn't bother upgrading the 4 to iOS 5 unless your going to sell/give it away to someone (at least then they have the latest operating system), as there is a chance that the update wont work and you'll still have to work from restore the OS and then restore the information.
